Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Casablanca

Your adventure begins in Morocco’s largest coastal city. On arrival, we transfer you from the airport to your hotel. There will be time to meet your group, have something to eat, and settle in before the journey begins in earnest tomorrow.

  • Day 2

    Exploring Casablanca & Rabat

Casablanca - Rabat - Chefchaouen. We begin the day at the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca - one of the largest mosques in the world, set dramatically on the Atlantic coast. We then travel to Rabat to visit the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, both fine examples of Arab-Andalusian architecture and important symbols of Morocco’s heritage.

Later, we continue to Chefchaouen, the famous blue-washed town in the Rif Mountains. After arrival, there is time to settle in over dinner and prepare for the day ahead - it promises to be a memorable one.

  • Day 3

    Blue City & Waterfalls

In Chefchaouen, we explore the winding blue streets and hidden alleyways, with the town’s distinctive charm revealed at every turn. We then travel to the Akchour Waterfalls, where there is time to take in the mountain scenery and, if you wish, cool off with a swim in the clear waters.

  • Day 4

    Volubilis & Journey to Fes

Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Fes. We leave the Blue City behind and travel towards Fes, stopping en route at Volubilis. Here, we explore Morocco’s best-preserved Roman site, where ancient columns and intricate mosaics offer a glimpse into the country’s distant past.

By afternoon, we arrive in Fes - a city known for its deep-rooted traditions and strong sense of identity, offering an authentic insight into Moroccan life.

  • Day 5

    Exploring Fes & Traditional Crafts

We begin the day with a guided walk through the heart of Fes Medina, where narrow streets are filled with colour, sound, and the scent of spices, offering a glimpse into centuries-old traditions.

Later, there is an opportunity to try traditional crafts, with a hands-on pottery and zellige mosaic-making experience - two of Fes’ most iconic artistic forms.

  • Day 6

    Fes to Midelt

Fes - Midelt. As we begin the journey towards the Sahara, we travel through the changing landscapes of the Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt along the way. Here, we visit a traditional Berber village set in the foothills, where a local family welcomes us with mint tea and Moroccan treats, offering a glimpse into daily life in the region.

  • Day 7

    Into the Sahara Desert

Midelt - Sahara Desert. We continue our journey deeper into the Sahara, travelling through remote landscapes and small desert communities. Along the way, we stop to visit a local family, where we enjoy lunch and take part in a hands-on cooking demonstration of traditional Moroccan dishes.

Later, we reach the desert’s edge and make our way to camp by 4x4, crossing the rolling dunes. On arrival, there is time to explore on foot or by camel, try sandboarding, and take in the changing colours of the desert at sunset before settling in for a night under the stars.

  • Day 8

Out of the Desert to Merzouga

Sahara Desert - Merzouga. Today is a chance to slow the pace and enjoy the desert surroundings. You may wish to start early with a walk through the dunes at sunrise, when the light is at its most striking.

We then travel by 4x4 back to Merzouga, where our hotel sits right on the edge of the desert. The rest of the day is free - relax by the pool, soak up the sun, or simply unwind and take in the views.

  • Day 9

    Todra Gorge & Ouarzazate

Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Ouarzazate. Today we leave the desert behind and travel towards the mountains. We begin with a visit to the underground water tunnels of Ouattou Khetaras, an ancient irrigation system still used in parts of Morocco today.

We then continue to Todra Gorge, where we take a walk between towering rock walls that rise dramatically on either side of the valley. By evening, we arrive in Ouarzazate, where we settle in for the night ahead of tomorrow’s journey deeper into the mountains.

  • Day 10

    Ait Benhaddou & Imlil

Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Imlil. Today we travel to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar known for its earthen clay architecture and appearances in films such as Gladiator and series including Game of Thrones. We take time to walk through its historic streets and learn about its role as a former trading post along ancient caravan routes.

We then continue into the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in the village of Imlil. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and valleys, this small mountain town sits at the foot of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.

  • Day 11

Leisure Time in the Atlas & Journey to Marrakech

Imlil - Marrakech. This morning is yours to enjoy the Atlas Mountains. You may choose to join a guided trek through the surrounding peaks, or simply relax at your hotel and take in the views of the valley below.

In the afternoon, we travel to Marrakech, where we take part in a hands-on cooking class. Here, we learn to prepare classic Moroccan dishes from scratch, gaining an insight into the flavours and techniques that define the country’s cuisine.

  • Day 12

    Exploring Marrakech

Today is dedicated to the energy and atmosphere of Marrakech. We explore the medina on foot, weaving through busy souks, sampling local street food, and taking in the sights and sounds of Jemaa el-Fna, the city’s lively main square and cultural hub.

In the evening, we come together for a final group dinner, a chance to reflect on our adventure.

  • Day 13

Our tour comes to an end after breakfast and check-out. Make your way to the airport or your next destination.
