Summary
This semi-independent 3-day city break pairs two nights in Florence, the Renaissance city of the Uffizi, the Duomo and Michelangelo's David, with a full-day excursion into the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Spend free time exploring Florence at your own pace before venturing out for wine tasting at a local winery and a wander through the ancient streets of San Gimignano, with its striking medieval towers.
Itinerary
Day 1
Florence
On arrival in Florence, make your way to the centrally located hostel. Check in is from 15:00, but if you arrive early then you can leave your bags here and head out to explore independently.
Day 2
Tuscany Wine Tasting & San Gimignano
Florence - Tuscany - Florence. Experience the charm of Tuscany on a full day tour of the Chianti region. Visit two local winery and enjoy tastings of the region's wines alongside locally produced olive oil and balsamic vinegar, with producers on hand to walk you through each one. The afternoon continues in San Gimignano, where you can explore the medieval streets, try the town's celebrated gelato and take in views over the Tuscan hills. Returning to Florence for the evening, where you can head out to explore the city's vibrant nightlife.
Day 3
Florence
On the third day, check-out is required by 10:00. However, you can store your bags in the hostel's luggage room and use the remainder of the day to explore more of Florence at your own pace. Make your own way to your next destination or the airport for your onward flight.
