Summary
Embark on this 8-day tour through Spain, starting in the lively capital, Madrid, and journeying into the historic heart of Extremadura, stopping at the medieval city of Cáceres. Delight in Seville's magnificent Cathedral, Giralda Tower, and Maria Luisa Park. Discover Córdoba’s renowned Mosque-Cathedral and the charm of Ronda’s White Villages before relaxing on the sunny shores of Costa del Sol. Conclude with a visit to Granada’s breathtaking Alhambra and the cultural treasures of Toledo, before heading back to Madrid.
Itinerary
Day 1
Madrid to Caceres & Seville
Madrid - Caceres - Seville. We depart from the bus terminal at 7:45/8:00, heading toward the Extremadura region and arriving in Caceres. You can enjoy free time to explore Plaza Mayor and stroll through the old city, known for its famous and well-preserved medieval quarter, a recognized World Heritage site. There's free time for lunch before we continue south to Andalucía, arriving in Seville, where dinner is included.
Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as in English.
Meeting Point: C. de Ferraz, 3, Moncloa - Aravaca, 28008 Madrid at 8:00.
Day 2
Seville City Tour
Today, we will embark on a morning sightseeing tour that includes visits to Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de Espana, and the exteriors of the stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, the Giralda. We'll also explore the charming Santa Cruz neighbourhood, known for its streets, squares, and narrow alleys. Lunch is included at a local restaurant.
After the tour, the rest of the day is at leisure in Seville. If you choose, there's an optional river cruise on the Guadalquivir, offering panoramic views of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or you can visit the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, as an optional activity, you can attend a flamenco show.
Day 3
Cordoba City Tour
Seville - Cordoba. This morning, we will depart for Cordoba, travelling through the picturesque Andalusian countryside. Upon arrival, we’ll begin our guided walking tour at the historic Almodovar Gate, where we’ll meander through the charming Jewish Quarter, admiring its whitewashed lanes and flower-filled patios. We’ll then visit the magnificent Mosque-Cathedral, a stunning blend of Moorish and Christian architecture that stands as a symbol of Cordoba’s rich heritage.
In the afternoon, enjoy some time at your leisure to explore the city’s hidden corners, shop for local crafts, or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Later, we’ll gather for dinner at our accommodation, where you can relax and unwind.
Day 4
White Villages, Ronda & Costa del Sol
Seville - Ronda - Costa del Sol. After breakfast, we depart for the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Admire the striking hilltop villages with whitewashed houses, set against rugged landscapes, and enjoy some free time to explore Ronda, famous for its dramatic El Tajo gorge and the historic Puente Nuevo bridge. We then continue on to Costa del Sol, where dinner is included.
Day 5
Costa del Sol at Leisure
Today, you will have a full day at leisure to explore Costa del Sol at your own pace. You might choose to relax on the sandy beaches, stroll along the bustling promenades, or visit the charming old towns. Alternatively, you could indulge in shopping, sample the local cuisine at seaside cafés, or enjoy water sports and other recreational activities.
Day 6
Costa del Sol at Leisure
This morning, you'll have another full day at leisure to enjoy Costa del Sol as you wish. You might choose to unwind at the beach, explore the vibrant markets, or discover hidden gems in the nearby coastal villages. If you’re feeling adventurous, try water sports, golf, or a scenic coastal walk. Alternatively, consider visiting cultural sites or enjoying a leisurely meal at a local restaurant.
Day 7
Exploring Granada & the Alhambra
Costa del Sol – Granada. Today, we depart for Granada. Here, we will explore the stunning Alhambra and Generalife, the former residence of the Moorish kings, renowned for its magnificent fountains, gardens, and arches.
This evening, there is an optional visit to the Sacromonte caves to experience a traditional gipsy flamenco show.
Please note: If tickets to the Alhambra and Generalife are unavailable on specific dates, as determined by the Patronato, an alternative city tour of Granada will be offered. This will include visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, as well as a walk through the Alcaicería silk market and Cathedral Square.
Day 8
Granada to Toledo & Madrid
Granada - Toledo - Madrid. After our final breakfast, we will be departing for the Imperial City of Toledo, known for its rich history and monuments. Here, we will enjoy lunch and explore the city's narrow streets and alleys. Afterwards, we will return to Madrid, where our services will conclude upon arrival.
You will dropped on Ferraz Street, near the Plaza de Espana at approximately 17:30, though this time is subject to external factors such as traffic and passenger delays.
