Ferry journeys and free time keep the pace relaxed, while a final night back in Athens lets you soak up more of the capital’s atmosphere before heading home.
Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Athens
On arrival in Athens, we transfer to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure to settle in and get a first feel for the city. You may wish to explore the local neighbourhood or enjoy a relaxed dinner nearby as you adjust to the pace of Greek life.
Day 2
Athens City Tour
After breakfast, we join a guided sightseeing tour of Athens. We pass key landmarks including the Panathenaic Stadium - the site of the first modern Olympic Games - as well as the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. We also see the Parliament building at Syntagma Square, along with the Academy, University and National Library.
The tour continues to the Acropolis, the ancient citadel that dominates the city skyline, followed by a visit to the Acropolis Museum, which houses important artefacts from the site. The afternoon is free for further exploration or time at leisure.
Day 3
Transfer to Santorini
We depart early for Piraeus port and board the ferry to Santorini. The journey takes several hours, offering views across the Aegean Sea. On arrival, we transfer to the hotel.
The remainder of the day is free - you might explore nearby villages, enjoy a seaside lunch, or simply relax and take in Santorini’s distinctive scenery.
Day 4
Explore Santorini at Leisure
Today is at leisure to experience Santorini at your own pace. You could visit the island’s famous black sand beaches, wander through whitewashed villages, or take in the views from the caldera - formed by a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago.
An optional half-day cruise is available to the volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, where you can walk on volcanic terrain and swim in natural hot springs. In the evening, you may choose to dine at a restaurant overlooking the caldera, known for its sunset views.
Day 5
Return to Athens
Return to Athens by ferry, travelling back to Piraeus. On arrival, you are transferred to the hotel. The afternoon and evening are free - a good opportunity to revisit favourite spots or explore areas you may have missed earlier in the trip.
Day 6
Farewell Athens
Depending on your flight time, we transfer you to Athens airport for departure. Your tour concludes with lasting memories of Greece’s history, landscapes and island life.
