Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Welcome to Athens

On arrival at Athens Airport, we are met with welcome assistance and transferred to our hotel in Athens. The rest of the day is at leisure to settle in and begin experiencing the city at your own pace.

  • Day 2

    Exploring Classical Athens

This morning we enjoy a panoramic city tour introducing us to Athens’ most important landmarks. We pass the Panathinaikon Stadium, Zappeion, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, Syntagma Square, the Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as Schliemann’s House, the Academy, University, National Library and the Old Parliament. We then visit the Acropolis, exploring the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon and the Erechtheion. Our tour continues at the Acropolis Museum, where remarkable discoveries from the Acropolis, including the Caryatides, are displayed. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore Plaka and the historic centre at your own pace.

Itinerary alterations - please note: On some departure dates, the order of excursions may be reversed and have the Day-Cruise on Day 02, and the City tour on Day 03.

  • Day 3

    Saronic Islands Discovery Cruise

Athens - Aegina - Poros - Hydra - Athens. Today we spend a full day cruising the islands of the Saronic Gulf. On Hydra, famous for being vehicle-free, you can take a donkey ride and explore the charming harbour area and its Mitropolis. In Poros, you may hike up to the clock tower for views over the yacht marina and across to the Peloponnese. On Aegina, you can enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride and sample the island’s well-known pistachios, or join an optional excursion to the Temple of Aphaia. A buffet lunch is served on board, and on the return journey to Athens we enjoy lively Greek music and dancing. Please Note: The operation of the one-day cruise is subject to weather conditions and minimum participation during the winter months.
