Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Welcome to Kathmandu

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, we are greeted by our guide with a traditional Dhaka Khada before transferring to the hotel.

Later, we visit Swayambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Swayambhunath, believed to be around 2,000 years old, sits on a hilltop overlooking the city. Its white dome and gilded spire are among Kathmandu’s most recognisable sights, with the painted eyes of Buddha looking out across the valley.

We then continue to Kathmandu Durbar Square, once the royal and ceremonial heart of the old city. The square is home to traditional temples, courtyards and the historic Hanuman Dhoka Palace. The name Kathmandu is linked to Kasthamandap, a wooden pavilion said to have been built from a single tree.

The rest of the day is free for trek preparation.

  • Day 2

    Travel to Pokhara

Today, we drive to Pokhara. Set beside Phewa Lake and backed by the Annapurna range, Pokhara is known for its relaxed atmosphere, lakeside setting and mountain views.

In the late afternoon, we enjoy boating on Phewa Lake. You then have time to explore the lakeside market or make final preparations for the trek.

    Drive time: Approximately 6 hours

  • Day 3

Transfer to Nayapul & Trek to Ulleri

After breakfast, we drive to Nayapul, the starting point of our Annapurna trekking adventure. From Nayapul, we begin trekking through small settlements, terraced farmland and riverside trails while experiencing the everyday life of the local mountain communities. The route gradually ascends through forests and traditional villages, offering our first closer views of the Annapurna region.

As we gain elevation, the scenery changes from cultivated farmland to lush hillsides and forested trails. Ulleri is a charming hillside village known for its stone houses and mountain atmosphere.

    Trekking time: Approximately 3 hours (2055 m)

  • Day 4

    Trek to Ghorepani

Today’s trek takes us deeper into the Annapurna region through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. During spring, the hillsides are filled with colourful rhododendron blooms, Nepal’s national flower.

The trail gradually climbs through peaceful woodland paths with occasional openings revealing views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Along the route, we pass small villages and enjoy the changing mountain landscapes.

Ghorepani is a traditional mountain settlement surrounded by forests and dramatic Himalayan scenery. The village has long served as an important stop for trekkers heading towards Poon Hill.

    Trekking time: Approximately 4 hours (2860 m)

  • Day 5

Sunrise Hike to Poon Hill & Trek to Tadapani

Early this morning, we hike to Poon Hill, one of Nepal’s most famous viewpoints. Reaching the summit before sunrise, we watch the first light illuminate the Himalayan peaks.

The panoramic views from Poon Hill are among the highlights of the trek, with stunning vistas across the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Peaks including Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Dhaulagiri rise dramatically above the surrounding valleys.

After returning to the lodge for breakfast, we continue trekking towards Tadapani through forests, ridgelines and peaceful mountain trails. The route offers more beautiful mountain scenery and opportunities to experience the quiet atmosphere of the Annapurna foothills.

    Trekking time: Approximately 5 hours (2630 m)

  • Day 6

    Trek to Ghandruk

After breakfast, we descend through forested trails towards Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful and well-known Gurung villages in the Annapurna region. The village is famous for its traditional stone houses, terraced fields and strong Gurung cultural heritage. Surrounded by impressive mountain scenery, Ghandruk offers excellent views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Walking through the village provides an insight into local mountain life and the traditions of the Gurung community, many of whom have a long history of service in the Gurkha regiments.

    Trekking time: Approximately 4 hours (2012 m)

  • Day 7

Trek to Kimche & Return to Pokhara

This morning, we continue our final short trek downhill to Kimche through rural trails and terraced farmland. At Kimche, we meet our vehicle for the drive back to Pokhara. Returning to the lakeside city after several days in the mountains offers a chance to relax and enjoy the comforts of the city once again.

The remainder of the day is at leisure. You may wish to explore Pokhara’s cafés and lakeside markets, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere around Phewa Lake, or simply relax after the trek.

    Trekking time: Approximately 2 hours

    Drive time: Approximately 1.5 hours

  • Day 8

    Return Flight to Kathmandu

Today you have some free time before transferring to the domestic airport for your short flight back to Kathmandu. The scenic flight offers impressive aerial views of the Himalayan landscape and surrounding hills.
