Here are some commons Q&As about the adventure.

Does the price include flights?

No, international flights are not included in the price.  Flights though can be cheap.  You ideally need to fly to Santiago de Compostela.  There are direct flights from Stanstad with Ryanair.  Alternatively, fly into Barcelona and hop on a connecting flight.  We recommend using Skyscannerfor research on timings and prices.

How do I get from the airport to the starting hotel in Sarria?

You can get a train from Santiago de Compostela airport direct to Sarria which takes around 3.5 hours.  You can find times and prices here: renfe.com

What is the best airport to fly home from?

For most flights it will be Madrid.  There are several buses and trains that run from Santiago on a daily basis to Madrid or other cities. Several airlines have flights daily to Madrid from Lavacolla Airport, just outside of Santiago.  Our end hotel is located in the heart of the historical old town. It is a 15 minute drive to the airport, and a 10 minute bus ride to the bus station. To Santiago airport from downtown, taxis charge a flat rate of 16€.

How far do we walk each day?

The distance each day various from 14km to 23km but no more than that!  Its also quite flat and easy going rather than up and down hills!

Do I need to do any training?

No, this adventure is designed for the average person to be able to enjoy.  Your legs may be a little tired after a days walking but no more than that.

This is my first time travelling solo, what do I need to know?

Congratulations on your first solo adventure!  The first thing to know is you're going to have a great time.  Usually half of the people on any adventure are solo travellers so it's likely you'll be in the same boat as many others.  How social you want to be is up to you, certainly we feel the biggest benefit of travelling in a small group is meeting people, often from all over the world.  The guide is there to not only guide but make sure everyone has a good time.  You'll be sharing a room with someone of the same gender but if you don't fancy that you can pay a little extra to secure your own room

How much spending money should I take with me?

Each day you'll need to buy lunch, dinner, drinks and any snacks or extras.  We'd recommend around 50 euros per day but it really is up the individual as everyone eats and drinks different amounts.  You will gt access to cash machines along the way in case.

What should I pack?

There is a long packing list in the brochure you downloaded but the basics are walking shoes, sun cream, sunglasses, shorts, t shirts, hat, camera and a waterproof.  We recommend looking at the weather forecast just before you travel, whilst this isn't always 100% accurate it may give you an indication what what to take.

Can I find out who else is on the adventure?

Yes, please contact us with which date you're interested in and we will be able to tell you how many people have booked, the age ranges, the nationality and how many solo travellers there are.

Can I hold a space while I research flights?

Yes, on the adventure page you can click 'Reserve Space' which will take you to a page where you can fill out a few basic details and submit the form to us, we can then hold your space(s) so no one else can book them.  We can hold spaces for 48 hours free of any charges and with no obligation.

Do I need a Visa?

That depends upon your nationality.  If you're an EU citizen then no, if not then it is better to check with your national foreign office.
