The Azores
The Azores lie almost 900 miles or 1,400km of the coast of Lisbon, western Portugal in the Atlantic Ocean. The volcanic archipelago consists of nine islands with the mains island of Sao Miguel or 'The Green Island' is the hub and cultural home for the people of The Azores.
There is a lot to do in The Azores. Walking and trekking routes and plentiful and certainly the main attraction for those looking for something more active. The beaches with surfing and windsurfing are all over the islands. You can try you hand at paddle boarding and explore the towns and cities trying the local food.
Travel To The Azores
The best way to get to Th Azores is to fly to Portugal and then onwards. There aren't many flights direct from the UK (if any now!) but getting to Lisbon should be relatively easy and then an easy hop from there.
