RISK FREE BOOKING

These are difficult days and weeks but we remain optimistic that later this year travel will be much easier. With that in mind we wanted to provide an update on some common questions we receive and the benefits of booking with The Adventure People.

DATE CHANGE & FLEXIBILITY

If you need to change the date of your tour you can do so with no extra charges. If your new date prices are a little higher you'll need to pay the extra but if your new dates have lower prices we can refund the difference.

LOW DEPOSITS

You can secure your space on an adventure with a small deposit.

FINANCIAL & ATOL PROTECTION 

Unlike most other travel companies we run a TRUST account and CLIENT account. In short this means if you book with us your money is passed to either of the accounts and not our business account. Should anything happen to The Adventure People (no matter how unlikely!) you'll be able to either continue with your booking or receive a refund. We only receive your money after your tour has started.

Not only that but we also have an ATOL license issued by the Civil Aviation Authority which allows us to sell flights. ATOLs are difficult to obtain and are a mark of our protection in place for customers.

Finally we are also a member of ABTA whom with which we have a bond in case anything happens to The Adventure People which means your money is protected.

CANCELLATIONS

If your tour is cancelled by the operator you can either have a full refund for the tour, change your dates or keep a credit with The Adventure People to use against a future tour.

Most people change dates but you are entitled to a refund if you wish.

If you cancel your tour and travel is possible and the tour is running  then cancellation terms will apply. 

However, we'll do our best to make sure this is free and we've been almost 100% successful over the past few months.

PAYMENT PLANS

We offer three types of plan:

1. Book with a low deposit and pay the balance before the start sate. The payment can change but is anything from 7 days before to 60 days before the start date.

2. Monthly Payment Plans. Book with a low deposit and then spread the cost of X months before your start date.

3. Pay the full balance immediately !

Our walking holidays in Portugal are for everyone who enjoy a walk or hike. They're not designed for experienced rambles or hikers at all, they're put together with most people in mind. They are not super challenging but likewise it's not lying down by a pool either!

On most departure dates there are couples and solo travellers with about a 50/50 split. Age wise varies from 20's to 60's with an average age of around 40.

We can always help with the demographics of any group before you book, just make contact with us.

Not really, just good walking shoes. Most walking holiday brochures which are free to download will provide a packing list. Basics include:

Sunglasses

Suncream

Waterproof jacket and trousers

Waterbottle

Good walking shoes

Your luggage is transported for you and will meet you at your nights accommodation along the way.

These walking holidays are designed with everyone in mind so average fitness is fine!

The accommodation on all walking holidays varies by trip to trip, with that in mind please check each holiday carefully. The brochures which are free to download often give much more information. 

As a general guide you can expect three star accommodation.

Food is available along the way. For the guided walking holidays your guide will be stopping at points for lunch along the way and guiding you for dinner options in the evening. Sometimes the group opts to eat together but it's not compulsory for anyone.

If you're on a self guided trip your holiday notes will provide a guide on places to eat along the way.

Great! you're in the right place. As a solo traveller you'll be paired with someone of the same gender to share a room with, if you'd prefer your own room you can pay a little more at the time of booking.

Usually 50% of those on a group holiday are solo travellers so you won't be alone. If you'd like to find out a bit moe about whose going on the holidays please make contact and we can let you know.
