Day 2
Halong Bay Overnight Cruise
Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a stunning natural marvel. Prepare to be captivated by its breathtaking scenery and enjoy a relaxing cruise with various engaging activities.
We'll start our day with breakfast, followed by checking out of our Hanoi hotel. A transfer team will meet us in the hotel lobby between 8:00 and 9:00 am, with the exact time confirmed the day prior. We'll arrive at the jetty around noon, where we'll board our vessel.
Once onboard, enjoy a welcome and check-in before we set sail through the bay’s numerous islets. Lunch is served as we cruise. In the afternoon, partake in optional activities such as swimming, kayaking, or visiting intriguing caves, depending on your boat’s itinerary. Alternatively, you can opt to relax onboard.
As evening draws near, we'll anchor in a picturesque spot. Be sure to take in the sunset before dinner. We'll spend the night on the cruise.
Please note: If weather conditions prevent the cruise from departing, the itinerary may change or be cancelled. In such an event, your travel consultant will organise alternative arrangements.
Day 3
Return to Hanoi
Start your morning with an optional Tai Chi lesson or simply enjoy a hearty breakfast. As we cruise back towards the port, we will stop at the fascinating Limestone Cave, renowned for its impressive stalagmites and stalactites. Afterwards, we'll sail smoothly back to the main harbour and return to Hanoi, arriving at approximately 17:00. You will have the rest of the day free to explore at your leisure.
Day 4
Journey to Hoi An
Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy some leisure time to explore or relax until we arrange a private cab to transfer you to the airport for your next flight to Danang. Upon arrival, we will provide a private vehicle transfer from Danang to the charming town of Hoi An. Spend the night in Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved ancient town and vibrant history.
Day 5
Hoi An Ancient Town
Hoi An, formerly known as Faifo, was a pivotal port on the Silk Road, welcoming traders from China, Japan, France, and Portugal for over 500 years. This rich history has created a unique blend of cultures, cuisines, religions, and architectural styles, earning it UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999 for its distinctive architecture.
We will begin our exploration on foot in Hoi An's historic centre, notable for its beautifully restored buildings, renowned silk products, skilled tailors, iconic yellow walls, and delectable noodles and seafood. The town’s relaxed atmosphere and pedestrian-friendly streets make it a joy to explore.
Our first stop is the Chua Ong Pagoda, a marvellous Chinese-style temple built in 1653 to honour the Chinese general Quan Cong. We then proceed to the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, known for the Jinshang Temple, dedicated to the goddess of the sea—a vital deity for the sailors who once frequented this port.
Next, we visit the 200-year-old Tan Ky House, showcasing traditional Vietnamese architecture, and the renowned Japanese Covered Bridge. Constructed by Japanese craftsmen, this bridge also served as a temple and stands as a significant city landmark. Our guide will share insights into its construction and significance.
We will conclude our tour with lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.
Day 6
Travel to Siem Reap
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, take advantage of your free time to explore the local area at your leisure. A private cab will then transfer you to the airport for your onward flight to Siem Reap.
Day 7
Angkor Temples Exploration
After breakfast, we begin our day at the South Gate of Angkor Thom. We will explore key sites including Bayon Temple, notable for its mesmerising smiling faces, and the Royal Enclosure, linked to the Khmer Empire's regal past. The visit continues to Phimeanakas, the once-royal temple, and the Elephant and Leper King Terraces, adorned with fascinating bas-reliefs depicting mythological scenes.
Next, we venture to Ta Prohm, famously intertwined with the jungle. The temple’s evocative ruins are a striking testament to the power of nature over man-made structures.
After a local lunch, we visit Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda, examples of petite yet elegant Khmer architecture. Our journey takes us to Ta Keo, a temple known for its excellent condition. We'll then proceed to Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1992 and one of the 'Seven Wonders of the World.' This iconic site is celebrated for its stunning architecture and features the world's longest continuous bas-relief, illustrating Hindu epics.
As the day winds down, we climb Bakheng Hill to enjoy a breathtaking sunset view over the ruins and Tonle Sap Lake. Built as the first major temple in Angkor, Bakheng offers unparalleled panoramic views. After dinner, you can explore Siem Reap’s Night Market and the lively Pub Street, perfect for souvenirs and local experiences.
Please note: The Bakan Tower at Angkor Wat closes for four days each month according to the Theravada Buddhist calendar. Modest attire is required, with shoulders and knees covered. Please queue patiently if you wish to climb the tower. For safety reasons, children under twelve are not allowed to ascend.
Day 8
Journey to Phuket
Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, enjoy some leisure time to relax or explore at your own pace. At the appointed time, a private cab will transfer us to the airport for our flight to Phuket.
