  • Day 2

    Tokyo

Today, we embark on an in-depth guided exploration of Tokyo, a city where tradition meets innovation. Our morning begins with a visit to Zojoji Temple. Here youll capture an iconic view of Tokyo Tower, standing amidst hundreds of Jizo statues, which are believed to safeguard children. These stone figures are uniquely adorned with vibrant knit caps and bibs.

Next, we immerse ourselves in the hustle and bustle of Shibuya Crossing, famed as the busiest intersection globally, before visiting the serene Meiji Shrine, honouring the spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Our adventure continues along the graceful Omotesando Avenue before taking in the picturesque landscapes of the Imperial Palace and its beautiful gardens, where we pause to admire the majestic Nijubashi Bridge.

Passing through Akihabara, or "Electric Town," we glimpse the heart of Japanese manga and anime culture, and see the Kokugikan, Japan's famous sumo wrestling arena. Our tour concludes in Asakusa, where we visit the historic Sensoji Temple and explore the bustling Nakamise Street. A delightful lunch awaits us at a traditional local restaurant.

The evening promises its own excitement. At 6:30 p.m., we rendezvous with our guide at the hotel and venture to Shinjuku by metro tickets are included. In this lively district, the vibrant nightlife comes alive as we stroll the bustling streets to a local diner for dinner (included). After soaking up the atmosphere, we return to our hotel, again using the metro with our guide.

  • Day 3

    Tokyo

We will board the bullet train for an exhilarating journey from Tokyo to Kyoto in the morning. This high-speed marvel will whisk us over 500 kilometres in just over two hours, allowing us to make the most of our day in the enchanting city of Kyoto. Once the seat of the Imperial Court and Japan's capital from 794 to 1868, Kyoto was spared the devastation of World War II bombings, enabling it to retain an exceptional artistic and cultural heritage. In 1997, it gained global recognition as the signing place of the Kyoto Protocol, a landmark agreement aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our exploration of Kyoto will lead us to its most treasured sites, including the awe-inspiring Fushimi Inari Shrine with its famous torii gates, the Imperial Palace, and the renowned Kinkakuji Temple, colloquially known as the "Golden Pavilion", set amidst splendid gardens. We'll immerse ourselves in the historic atmosphere of Gion, Kyotos vibrant traditional district known for its geisha culture and lively streets. The latter part of the day is yours to continue exploring at your leisure.

  • Day 4

    Kyoto

Today, we set off for Nara to explore the iconic Todaiji Temple, constructed in 752. As home to a towering Buddha statue, this temple is a masterpiece of ancient Buddhist architecture. While there, you're sure to enjoy photographing and interacting with the gentle deer that wander freely around the park. A delightful lunch is provided during our visit. Following this, we will explore the Horyu-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its historic significance and age-old structures, including one of the world's oldest wooden buildings. This sacred site stands as Japan's oldest Buddhist temple and continues to be a place of profound spiritual importance.

Our journey continues to Osaka, where we'll reach in the evening. You'll find yourself in Japan's vibrant and contemporary second-largest city. As the day unfolds, we invite you to experience the lively energy of Dotonbori, a bustling district famed for its nightlife and colourful ambiance. Accommodation awaits in Osaka, ensuring you are well rested for further adventures.
