Itinerary

  • Day 1

Keflavik to Qaqortoq, Capital of South Greenland

Keflavik International Airport (Iceland) - Qaqortoq (Greenland). Included flight from Keflavík International Airport to Qaqortoq, the largest town in South Greenland. Set amid dramatic mountains and deep fjords, Qaqortoq is characterised by its colourful houses, small harbour and vibrant local art scene. One of its highlights is the open-air Stone & Man project, featuring rock carvings scattered throughout the town.

Please note: Travel in Greenland depends on weather, fog, and ice conditions, so day tours and excursions may change, and alternatives will be offered when possible. Delays or cancellations between Iceland and Greenland can also occur. Comprehensive travel insurance is essential to cover unexpected expenses. To avoid missing international flights, plan to stay at least two nights in Iceland after your Greenland trip.

  • Day 2

    Qaqortoq, Icebergs & Narsaq

Qaqortoq - Narsaq. This morning you have time to explore the charming town of Qaqortoq. Highlights include the Qaqortoq Museum, which provides insight into local history and culture, as well as the harbour, church and artisan shops. After lunch, we travel by RIB boat to Narsaq, stopping en route to admire impressive icebergs drifting through the fjord. Nestled between mountains and fjords, Narsaq is known for its tranquil atmosphere and striking natural surroundings.

  • Day 3

    Ice Trekking

Today we enjoy an unforgettable close-up encounter with Greenland’s ice. Travelling by RIB boat along the glacier fronts, we are surrounded by towering icebergs and sheer ice walls. Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide, we step onto the glacier wearing crampons and take a guided walk across the ice. Designed to be accessible for all travellers, the trek allows time to explore crevasses and remarkable ice formations, offering a fascinating insight into the Arctic environment.

  • Day 4

    Narsarsuaq, Flower Valley & Qassiarsuk

We cross to Narsarsuaq by zodiac. This small settlement has a unique past as a World War II air base and is home to the Greenlandic Arboretum, one of the northernmost botanical gardens in the world. We walk through the Arboretum and continue into Flower Valley, renowned for its summer blooms and views of the Kiattut Glacier. From the ridge above, we enjoy sweeping views across the valley and glacier.

Later, we cross the fjord to Qassiarsuk to visit the Norse ruins of Brattahlíð, the former home of Erik the Red. Here we explore reconstructions of a Viking longhouse and Thjodhild’s church. The site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage area Kujataa Greenland, which illustrates how Norse and Inuit farmers once lived at the edge of the Ice Cap.

  • Day 5

    Narsaq sightseeing & Qaqortoq

Narsag - Qaqortoq. This morning we explore Narsaq with our guide. We visit the local museum, fish market, handicraft workshop and church, and may also enjoy a short walk in the surrounding area. If time allows, we take an easy hike for views over the town and fjord. In the afternoon, we return by boat to Qaqortoq.

  • Day 6

    Qaqortoq to Keflavik

Qaqortoq - Keflavik. After breakfast, you have some free time in Qaqortoq before our flight back to Keflavík, Iceland.
