Day 1
Lisbon
Upon arrival in Lisbon, we'll arrange a smooth transfer to your hotel, allowing you to settle in at your leisure. Use this free time to begin exploring the charming streets of Portugal's capital, renowned for its rich history and vibrant culture. In the afternoon, important information regarding the start of your journey will be available at the hotel reception. This is a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the schedule and prepare for the exciting experiences ahead. Enjoy your first taste of the city's unique charm and get ready for a memorable journey. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2
Lisbon
This morning, we start with a guided exploration of Lisbon, a city renowned for its seven hills. We�ll stroll through its charming alleys, adorned with iconic tiles, and bask in the unique Atlantic light. Our journey will take us to the Belem neighbourhood, a historic area where the great Portuguese navigators embarked on their oceanic voyages in the 15th century. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure � you might choose to wander the bustling streets of Bairro Alto and visit its scenic viewpoint. Alternatively, there�s the option to explore the towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. As the evening unfolds, we�ll return to our hotel, departing from the vibrant Restauradores Square, where lively bars and caf�s await.
Day 3
Lisbon
We head out early towards the southern expanses of Portugal, crossing the scenic bridge over the Tagus River. Our journey leads us to the Algarve, where we discover the historic city of Lagos. This city is renowned for its once-thriving port, which served as the departure point for Portuguese voyages to Brazil. You'll find its charming historic centre, encircled by ancient walls, perfect for a leisurely exploration. We'll pause for a lunchtime break before continuing to the dramatic cliffs of Cape St. Vincent, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Here, you can capture the striking Sagres fortress in photographs. Our afternoon winds down in Albufeira, a beautiful coastal city. Whether you choose to unwind on the beaches or explore the bustling historic centre, you'll find plenty to enjoy. We will spend the night in Albufeira or nearby in the Algarve region.
Day 4
Day 4
On day four, we begin our day with a visit to Faro, the tranquil capital of the Algarve, where we'll enjoy a leisurely stroll through its charming streets. From there, we journey into the Alentejo region, making our way to M�rtola. Situated on the banks of the Guadiana River, M�rtola is a fascinating walled town with a rich history dating back to the Muslim era. Here, you'll find a captivating blend of whitewashed houses and historical corners nestled beneath an impressive castle, perfect for exploring at a relaxed pace.
Our next stop is �vora, a city recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll have the opportunity to wander through its ancient streets, taking in the splendid medieval palaces, Gothic religious buildings, and a remarkable Roman temple. We visit the Chapel of Bones, which contains over 5,000 skeletons and offers a unique, thought-provoking experience (admission included). We then continue towards Lisbon, aiming to arrive by the end of the day.
Day 5
Lisbon
After breakfast, our journey concludes in Lisbon.
