Summary
Begin in Madrid and finish back in the capital on a 7–day spin through Spain’s classics. Explore grand boulevards, Retiro and the Santiago Bernabéu, then head south across La Mancha to Granada for Albaicín lanes and Alhambra views. Trace the Tropical Coast via Nerja and Málaga, climb to dramatic Ronda, and settle into soulful Seville – cathedral, Giralda, Santa Cruz and a leisurely cruise on the Guadalquivir, with optional flamenco after dark. Continue to Córdoba’s exquisite Mosque–Cathedral and Jewish Quarter, then pause at Consuegra’s storybook windmills before returning to Madrid – a well–paced mix of culture, scenery and tapas.
Itinerary
Day 1
Madrid
On arrival at Madrid airport, we’ll transfer you to your hotel. You’ll have free time until the tour begins — please check the information boards at reception for details of the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers. In the evening, we’ll provide a transfer to Plaza Mayor and La Latina — renowned for lively nightlife and tapas. You can choose where to dine, with options including Spanish, Indian, Chinese and Middle Eastern cuisines. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2
Madrid
This morning we take a comprehensive tour of central Madrid, including Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. We then continue to Retiro Park to see the lake and the Palacio de Cristal. Admission is included to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium – home of Real Madrid. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore as you wish, and in the evening we provide a return transfer to your hotel.
Day 3
Madrid
We depart Madrid early, travelling south across La Mancha. We stop in Puerto Lápice, a charming Manchego village evocative of Don Quixote, then continue through Despeñaperros into Andalusia and arrive in Granada, where lunch is included. The afternoon is free – you can visit the Cathedral, which houses the tomb of the Catholic Monarchs, or wander the Albaicín and enjoy views of the Alhambra from the Mirador de San Nicolás. Please note that admission to the Alhambra is not included – if you wish to visit, we recommend booking tickets via the official website (https://tickets.alhambra-patronato.es) or through local tour providers.
Day 4
Granada
We leave Granada and take in sweeping views as we pass the Sierra Nevada before tracing the Mediterranean’s Tropical Coast – famed for its mild microclimate and groves of guava, mango and avocado, and once for sugar cane. We stop in Nerja, a charming seaside town backed by impressive cliffs, then continue to Málaga, capital of the Costa del Sol, where you’ll have time for lunch and a stroll through the historic centre. In the afternoon we head into the Andalusian sierras to reach Ronda, a striking white town dramatically split by a deep gorge. We continue to Seville, arriving in the late afternoon, with dinner included at the hotel.
Day 5
Seville
This morning we explore Seville on a guided city tour, taking in the cathedral and its Giralda tower, the banks of the Guadalquivir, and the atmospheric neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour we enjoy an included boat ride on the Guadalquivir – a relaxed way to appreciate panoramic views from the water. In the evening you can choose to attend a popular flamenco tablao.
Day 6
Seville
We leave Seville along the Guadalquivir Valley for Córdoba, once the capital of the Islamic Caliphate. With a local guide, we visit the Mosque–Cathedral – tickets included – and explore the Jewish Quarter with its narrow lanes and flower‑filled patios, emblematic of the city. You’ll have time for lunch before we continue north into Castile. We stop in Consuegra, where 12 windmills stand beside the castle overlooking the La Mancha plain, and we visit the Rucio Mill. We arrive in Madrid at the end of the day.
Day 7
Madrid
After breakfast, we conclude the tour in Madrid – our services end here. You’re free to depart at your own pace and continue your onward journey with lasting memories of your time in Spain.
