Journey onward to Jeonju, the cultural soul of Korea, where you'll delve into the rich traditions of Korean craftsmanship and culinary arts before spending a night in a traditional ondol-style house within the historical Jeonju Hanok Village. The tour continues in Gwangju with visits to serene natural landscapes and the unique Baekyangsa Temple, offering glimpses into Korea's spiritual elegance and culinary mindfulness. A retreat to the picturesque Suncheon Wetlands and Boseong's lush green tea plantations rounds off your exploration, leaving you with cherished memories of Korea's stunning vistas and rich heritage as you return to Seoul.
Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Seoul
Arrive at Incheon Airport, where our friendly driver will warmly welcome you. We’ll ensure you comfortably settle into your hotel located in the bustling heart of Seoul. The rest of the day is at your leisure. You might choose to explore the vibrant night scene of Myeongdong or simply relax and unwind at the hotel.
Day 2
Explore Jeonju
After breakfast, we journey to Jeonju, known as the cultural heart of Korea. Our first stop is Gosrak’s 4,000 Jar Garden, featuring an impressive array of earthenware jars essential to Korean culinary tradition. Next, we explore the Jeonju Traditional Wine Museum to delve into the history of Korean makgeolli and rice wines.
Afterwards, you can wander through the vibrant Jeonju Nambu Market, perfect for experiencing local life and sampling various delicacies. Then, step back in time by visiting the Jeonju Hanok Village, where we'll stay overnight in a traditional ondol-style house. This offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture.
Day 3
Journey to Gwangju via Sunchang
Start your day by breathing in the crisp mountain air at Chegyesan Suspension Bridge, surrounded by lush hills and valleys. We then head to Sunchang, renowned as the birthplace of Korean chili paste. Here, you can explore the Chili Paste Village and Museum to learn about this staple of Korean cuisine. Unwind with a soothing foot spa session.
Our final visit is to Baekyangsa Temple, where you'll meet Monk Jeonggwan, celebrated worldwide for her unique approach to temple cuisine that blends mindfulness with culinary art. This day offers a blend of flavours, nature, and serenity.
Day 4
Uncover Kimchi Land & Travel to Suncheon
After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Asia Culture Center, a key institution showcasing contemporary Korean art and exhibitions. We then head to Kimchi Land to delve into Korea's quintessential spicy dish.
Afterwards, travel to Suncheon to explore the stunning Suncheon National Garden. This beautifully landscaped area, combining flowers, waterways, and greenery, is designed to reflect harmony with nature.
Day 5
Visit Boseong & Return to Seoul
Begin your day with a visit to the Suncheon Wetlands, renowned for its tranquil scenery and as a refuge for migratory birds. We then travel to Boseong, famed for its iconic green tea plantations. Stroll through the lush, emerald fields that provide a feast for the eyes and a balm for the spirit.
After enjoying the serene landscape, we return to Seoul, carrying with us a collection of wonderful new experiences.
Day 6
Goodbye Seoul
On your final day, we start at Gyeongdong Market, Seoul’s largest traditional market, bustling with the vibrant sights, sounds, and aromas of local life. Then, we explore the Yakryeong Herb Centre to uncover an array of natural remedies and wellness products.
Finally, enjoy a leisurely stroll through Ikseondong Cafe Alley, where traditional allure meets modern flair. After this, we'll transfer you to Incheon Airport for your departure.
