London
Welcome to your tour! You will be picked up from the pick-up point communicated to you post-booking at approximately 7:30. Leaving London, we journey north to the historic university town of Cambridge, established in 1209. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander among its remarkable neoclassical Gothic structures, explore the charming canals, and visit the renowned residential colleges. Our exploration continues through Englands picturesque landscapes as we make our way to Coventry, a city steeped in rich history with an important legacy in the automotive industry. Coventry's cathedral, whose ruins tell the story of wartime destruction, is now a beacon of peace and reconciliation. Next, we make our way to Liverpool, where we'll enjoy a brief tour of this World Heritage Site, famed for its status as the UK's second-largest port and its celebrated association with the Beatles. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2
Liverpool
Following breakfast, well journey to Chester, a picturesque town on the border with Wales, known for its well-preserved Roman amphitheatre and imposing medieval walls. Explore the charming historical architecture at your own pace. Our travels will then take us to the quaint town of Lichfield for a lunch stop. Wander through its enchanting cobbled streets and catch a glimpse of the magnificent three-spired medieval cathedral that forms the town's centrepiece. The day continues as we make our way to Birmingham. Known for its pivotal role in the Industrial Revolution, today it stands as a bustling city filled with cultural and economic vibrancy. We suggest a leisurely walk around the town hall area and along the intricate canal networkmore extensive than Venice'swhich is now flanked by numerous restaurants and entertainment venues.
Day 3
Birmingham
Today we set off for the picturesque town of Stratford-upon-Avon, nestled on the banks of the River Avon and famously the birthplace of William Shakespeare. You'll have the opportunity to visit his birthplace if you wish. Following this, we continue our journey through a region renowned for its charming scenery and quaint villages, arriving at Stow-on-the-Wold. This delightful village boasts stone cottages and a pretty square lined with art galleries and antique shops. Our travels take us next to Gloucester, where you will have time to enjoy lunch at the vibrant docks and explore its historic centre. The city's grand cathedral, which famously featured in several Harry Potter films, is a must-see. We will conclude our day in Bath, a city celebrated for its Roman baths and splendid Georgian architecture. You might choose to explore the iconic Roman baths while here.
