    Arrival in Delhi

Touch down in New Delhi at any time throughout the day. You will be met and transferred to your accommodation.

In the evening, we gather with our fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. It’s the perfect chance to get to know the group and enjoy our first taste of India’s cuisine.

Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. The average age on this tour is around 21 - 35, and we are unfortunately unable to take any travellers over the age of 45. We have lots of group tours across our destinations that are suitable for travellers of all ages. Browse our website or get in touch to find the perfect trip!

  • Day 2

Delhi City & Street Food Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, we meet our local leader and take the metro to Jama Masjid, one of Delhi’s most important mosques. From here, we begin our morning street food experience, trying Bedmi Poori, jalebi and paratha, along with a cup of chai as we walk through the lanes of Old Delhi.

We then take a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, travelling through its narrow and busy streets before arriving at Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market. Our guide explains the different spices sold here and their everyday use.

Next, we visit a Sikh temple and join the community for a vegetarian lunch prepared in their large kitchen.

In the evening, we meet again for a Mughlai dinner, rounding off our first day of exploring the capital.

  • Day 3

Agra & The Taj Mahal at Sunset

Delhi - Agra. This morning, we take a train to Agra and settle into our accommodation on arrival. In the afternoon, we visit the Taj Mahal, taking our time to walk through the grounds and hear the story behind its creation. We continue to Agra Fort, exploring its courtyards, former royal chambers and views across the Yamuna River.

In the evening, we visit Sheroes Café for dinner. The café is run by survivors of acid attacks, offering a meaningful space to support their work and hear their stories over a simple, home-style vegetarian meal.

  • Day 4

    Jaipur & Raj Mandir Cinema

Agra - Jaipur. Today, depart from Agra and take a public bus to Jaipur, known as the Pink City. The city was shaped by its royal rulers and is recognised for its forts, palaces and lively bazaars, all set against buildings washed in soft pink tones.

This evening, we head out as a group to Raj Mandir Cinema to watch a Bollywood film. The cinema is a landmark in Jaipur, and seeing a movie here is an experience in itself.

  • Day 5

    Exploring Jaipur

After breakfast, we set off with our guide for an orientation walk through Jaipur’s old town. We move through the local market, learn how the city came to be known as the Pink City, meet a few traders and hear about the spices and ingredients used in everyday Rajasthani cooking.

Once we’ve explored the old town on foot, we take Tuk Tuks out to Galta Ji, often called the Monkey Temple. Set in a rocky valley just outside the city, the complex is home to a large population of monkeys, and we spend some time walking through the site with our guide.

The rest of the day is free for you to discover more of Jaipur at your own pace.Alternatively you can opt to join a visit to the Amber fort or a leopard safari.

  • Day 6

    Jaipur to Pushkar

Jaipur - Pushkar. This morning, we leave Jaipur and travel to Pushkar, one of India’s holiest towns. After arriving and checking in, we head out with our guide for an orientation walk through the town. We explore the local market, see daily life around the narrow streets, and get a clear introduction to what makes Pushkar such an important place of pilgrimage.

In the afternoon, we visit the holy lake where a local Brahmin performs a blessing for our group — a simple ceremony that marks our arrival in the town. Afterwards, we stop at a lakeside café to relax before returning to our accommodation for the evening.

  • Day 7

    Udaipur Sunset Cruise

Pushkar - Ajmer - Udaipur. After breakfast, we make our way to Ajmer and board our train to Udaipur, known as the White City and famous for its lakes and ornate architecture. Once we arrive, we take a walk through the markets and the old town with our guide, giving us a first look at the city’s winding streets, craft shops and lively neighbourhoods.

As the day draws to a close, we enjoy a private sunset boat cruise on Lake Pichola, a calm and scenic way to see the ghats and palaces from the water. Afterwards, we head to one of our favourite rooftop restaurants for dinner with a view.

  • Day 8

Udaipur Bike Tour & Cooking Class

Today, we set out on a bike ride through the villages surrounding Udaipur. A local guide from one of the communities introduces us to village life, explaining local customs, daily routines and the small temples that play an important role in the area. After the ride, we visit a nearby school for a short visit before heading back.

In the afternoon, you have some free time to relax. As the sun begins to set, we return to camp, where we join local villagers for a hands-on cooking class and learn how to prepare traditional Indian dishes before sitting down to enjoy the meal together.

  • Day 9

    Udaipur to Jodhpur

Udaipur - Jodhpur. This morning, we travel by bus to Jodhpur, the famous Blue City. When we arrive, we head to our traditional haveli accommodation set within the blue-painted old town. After checking in, we sit down together for a rooftop lunch overlooking the maze of buildings below.

Later in the afternoon, we explore the Blue City on foot. We stop at the impressive Jodhpur stepwell, a striking example of ancient stone architecture, before continuing through the clock tower market to try a saffron lassi and fresh samosas. We finish the day wandering the narrow lanes that wind beneath the towering Mehrangarh Fort.

  • Day 10

    Mehrangarh Fort

You will have the morning at leisure to relax after yesterday’s journey. You can take this time to explore more of the Blue City on foot, join a rooftop yoga class, or, if you’re up for something adventurous, try ziplining over the fort’s ramparts.

In the early afternoon, we meet as a group and walk to Mehrangarh Fort. With our local guide and audio guide, we explore the fort’s well-kept courtyards, rooms and exhibits, gaining insight into the royal history of Jodhpur.

  • Day 11

    Bikaner & Desert Safari

Jodhpur - Bikaner. We depart Jodhpur early this morning and take the train to Bikaner, a desert city founded in the 15th century and once an important stop for camel caravans crossing the Thar Desert. After we arrive and settle into our accommodation, we have a late breakfast before heading out to explore.

In the afternoon, we set off on a Jeep safari, travelling through nearby villages, sandy stretches and open desert landscapes, with the chance to spot local wildlife along the way. We then visit the Camel Research Centre, home to one of the world’s largest camel breeding and training facilities, and learn more about the role camels have played in this region for generations.

In the evening, we enjoy dinner with a local family, offering a warm and authentic insight into daily life in Bikaner.

  • Day 12

Bikaner City Walk & Train to Delhi

Bikaner - Delhi. After a morning at leisure, we check out and make our way into the centre of Bikaner for a walking tour of the old city. As we explore its narrow lanes and lively bazaars, we pass traditional havelis, colourful market stalls and workshops where local artisans continue age-old crafts. The old quarter offers a vivid look at daily life in Bikaner, with stalls selling spices, sweets, fabrics and handmade goods.

In the evening, we have dinner before heading to the station to board our overnight train to Delhi.
