  You will explore Delhi's bustling streets with an expert guide, marvel at the monuments of Agra and the majestic Taj Mahal, and gaze upon the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri.

• What type of accommodation can I expect?

  You will be staying in comfort hotels for 5 nights. Please note that hotel standards can sometimes differ from what you are accustomed to in your home country. If booked for one traveller, you will have your own room. For two or more travellers, you will be sharing twin rooms.

• What meals are included in this trip?

  Five breakfasts are included. Generally, other meals are not included to offer you maximum flexibility in choosing where, what, and with whom to eat.

• What kind of transportation is used on the tour?

  Transportation will primarily be by private van, jeep, or car, and will also involve walking. Land transfers and included tours may sometimes be shared with other travellers depending on availability and destination. Road travel in India can be an exciting experience with different driving customs.

• Is this a guided group tour?

  This is an Independent style trip, meaning there is no designated group or Chief Experience Officer (CEO) accompanying you throughout. A local representative will meet you upon arrival to provide a briefing, and local guides will be provided at the included sights.

• Are there any optional activities available?

  Yes, optional activities include visiting Agra Fort (approximately 650 INR per person), watching a Bollywood film at Raj Mandir (200-400 INR per person), and visiting Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) in Jaipur (202 INR per person).

• What are the minimum and maximum ages for this trip?

  The minimum age for this trip is 2 years, and the maximum age is 100 years.

• Is travel insurance required for my trip?

  Yes, travel insurance is compulsory. At a minimum, your policy must cover medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation, with a minimum coverage of USD200,000. Coverage for personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and lost luggage is also strongly recommended.

• What should I know about local customs and dress code?

  In Asia, dress standards are generally more conservative. It is recommended to pack loose, lightweight, long clothing that keeps you cool and covers knees and shoulders. This is especially important when visiting small rural communities, temples, mosques, or other holy sites, as respectful attire may be required for entry. During cooler months in northern India (mid-December to end of February), warmer clothes and thermal underclothes are useful.

• What is the tipping custom in India?

  Tipping service providers like waiters is customary in Asia, typically around 10% depending on service quality. For local guides who show you around monuments, recommendations range from 50-100 INR. For your driver/guide, 100-200 INR per person per day is suggested, based on service quality and length.

• What should I know about currency, credit cards, and exchanging money while on this tour?

  Currency exchange rates fluctuate; you can refer to www.xe.com for daily rates. ATMs accepting Visa and Mastercard are available in major cities. We also recommend carrying cash and travellers cheques in USD. Major credit cards are accepted in most shops but may incur a 2-4% transaction fee.

• How much emergency money should I bring on this trip?

  It is recommended to have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund, to be used in rare circumstances outside our control, such as a natural disaster requiring a change to the planned route.

• Are there any specific cultural notes for India?

  India offers a unique cultural experience that can be very different from what you've encountered before. Be prepared for potential culture shock due to pollution, poverty, and crowds. Attitudes toward time-keeping, public cleanliness, privacy, and service may differ. A lot of patience and a healthy sense of humour will help you appreciate all that India has to offer. Note that Ramadan may affect services and schedules during certain dates (March 11-April 8, 2024, and March 1-March 29, 2025); please show increased cultural sensitivity during this time.

• Are there any important notes regarding accommodation?

  Please be aware that properties with only two stories may not have elevators, requiring you to climb stairs with your luggage. Power cuts are a regular occurrence in many places, especially throughout North and Central India, and while some hotels have generators, they may not always work. It is also recommended to lock your room door as staff may sometimes enter without reason.

• What happens if I have problems upon arriving, or need emergency contact information?

  An arrival transfer is included if you arrive on Day 1 or up to three days prior and have pre-booked accommodation through the tour operator. If your arrival transfer does not arrive within 30 minutes after exiting the arrivals area, please take a taxi to your start point hotel. For specific airport transfer complications, you can call the local transfer providers directly. For general dire needs, you can contact the tour operator's South Asia Manager.

• Are there any rules regarding illegal drugs or prostitution?

  Illegal drugs will not be tolerated on any trips, as possession or use contravenes local laws and puts others at risk. The exploitation of prostitutes is also completely contrary to our philosophy of respect. Violation of these rules may lead to expulsion from the trip.

• What are the visa and entry requirements for my trip?

  All countries require a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity. A valid Indian visa is compulsory prior to the start of your tour, and it is your responsibility to obtain it. Some nationalities are eligible for an e-Visa, which can be applied for via https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html. As of February 2026, all non-Indian nationals entering India by air, land or sea must also complete the e-Arrival Card online within 3 days of arrival.
