Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Mexico City

    Welcome to Mexico City! Upon your arrival, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some free time to start exploring at your own pace or simply to relax and unwind. Later this afternoon, our guide will reach out to you with further details about the upcoming adventures. Dive into the vibrant atmosphere of this bustling metropolis and get ready to discover the lively sights, sounds, and flavours of Mexico's capital. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.

  • Day 2

    Mexico City

    On our second day in Mexico City, we embark on an engaging exploration of this vibrant metropolis. Our morning commences with a guided sightseeing tour, beginning at the Plaza of Three Cultures. This area beautifully blends the architectural remnants of pre-Columbian, colonial, and modern influences. We then proceed to the historic centre, where the bustling Z�calo � the city�s main square � is home to the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral. Nearby, you�ll also find the impressive remains of the main Aztec temple. Continuing our journey, we traverse Chapultepec Park and glide down the iconic Paseo de la Reforma Avenue, taking in the grand scope of this sprawling city.

    Our tour culminates with a visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe, the most frequented Catholic shrine in the Americas. Here, you�ll have the chance to explore both the historic 18th-century basilica and its contemporary counterpart. In the afternoon, we venture to the enchanting neighbourhood of Xochimilco. This area is renowned for its network of canals and exquisite semi-floating gardens, where you'll enjoy a delightful boat ride on a traditional, flower-adorned 'trajinera'.

    As evening draws near, we head towards the lively atmosphere of Plaza de Garibaldi. Famous for its mariachi performances, this area offers an array of enticing bars and restaurants where local delicacies like tacos and tequila are served. Our day concludes with a satisfying dinner at a traditional restaurant, where the vibrant sounds and flavours of Mexico come to life.

  • Day 3

    Mexico City

    We set off from Mexico City and head towards the state of Puebla. Along the way, we include a visit to the Ex-Hacienda de Chautla, an estate established in the 18th century. This site is renowned for its English-style castle situated on an artificial lake, surrounded by lush forest. As we continue our journey, we stop at Cholula, a charming town known for its delightful plaza and the picturesque Church of Nuestra Se�ora de los Remedios. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Our day concludes in Puebla, a bustling city of 1.5 million residents, where the rich colonial and Baroque heritage creates a captivating blend of history and modernity. You'll have an opportunity to admire the magnificent Cathedral and the exquisite Rosary Chapel. We spend the night in this vibrant city.

  • Day 4

    Puebla

    We'll set off for the state of Oaxaca, traversing picturesque mountain landscapes en route. By late morning, we arrive in Oaxaca, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich Aztec history and remarkable cultural heritage. Our visit includes an exploration of this captivating city. Next, we'll ascend to Monte Alb�n, a spectacular archaeological site perched 400 metres above the Oaxaca Valley�entry and guided tour included. This ancient city is the most stunning of the Zapotec civilisation. After returning to Oaxaca, you'll have free time to wander and discover the city's charms at your leisure.

  • Day 5

    Oaxaca

    On the fifth day of our journey, we start early as we head towards San Pablo Villa de Mitla, a delightful Pueblo M�gico. While there, you'll have an opportunity to wander around the area near the 16th-century Church of San Pablo, soaking up the charm of its quaint, rustic streets. Our journey continues through the captivating mountainous landscapes of Oaxaca as we make our way towards the Isthmus. We'll pause for lunch, which is included along the route. By late afternoon, we reach Tuxtla Guti�rrez, the bustling capital of the state of Chiapas, where we'll conclude our day's travels.

  • Day 6

    Tuxtla Gutirrez

    On day six, we embark on an exhilarating boat journey through the stunning Sumidero Canyon, gliding along this awe-inspiring natural wonder that stretches nearly 1 kilometre deep and 14 kilometres in length. After this memorable voyage, we take a leisurely stroll through Chiapa de Corzo, a charming town known for its colonial heritage and vibrant culture. Our journey into the heart of Mayan heritage continues as we visit villages inhabited by the Tzotzil people. In Zinacant�n, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the traditional attire of the women and explore beautiful local shops and weaving workshops. Our next stop, San Juan Chamula, will captivate us with its unique church, where Christian and pre-Columbian traditions are seamlessly woven into the rites. Finally, we continue to San Crist�bal de las Casas, a picturesque colonial city founded in 1528. You will have the afternoon free to explore this enchanting locale at your own pace.

  • Day 7

    San Cristobal de las Casas

    Today, we will begin our journey with a transfer from San Crist�bal de las Casas to Tuxtla Guti�rrez Airport. Once we arrive, we'll board a flight back to Mexico City, which is included in the travel package. Upon arrival in the bustling capital, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel for a comfortable stay. Take this time to relax and unwind from your travels. The charm of Mexico City awaits your exploration, whether it be through its vibrant culture, tantalising cuisine, or historic sights.

  • Day 8

    Mexico City

    After breakfast in Mexico City, your journey with us concludes. Please note that transfer arrangements from the hotel to the airport will need to be organised independently. We hope you've had an enriching experience and look forward to welcoming you on another adventure soon. Safe travels!
