Itinerary
Day 1
London
Welcome to the beginning of your tour! Upon arrival in London, you'll be transferred to your hotel, where you can settle in and unwind after your journey. Take advantage of the free time available to explore the local area or simply relax. In the afternoon, check the boards at the hotel reception for important details about the start of your adventure. Enjoy your first day in this exciting city at your own pace. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2
London
On the morning of our second day, we embark on an exciting city tour of London, taking in the iconic sights of Westminster, the Houses of Parliament, and the City, all while enjoying views of the majestic River Thames. In the afternoon, you have free time to immerse yourself in the city�s vibrant atmosphere. If you wish, we offer an optional excursion to the picturesque Thames Valley, where you can visit the charming town of Windsor, dominated by its magnificent castle. In the evening, we�ll gather at Piccadilly to explore the buzzing hubs of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and the lively streets of Soho, known for their theatres and entertainment. Please note, this evening activity might be arranged for the evening of your arrival in London, depending on the itinerary. After our eventful day, we'll return to our hotel by coach.
Day 3
London
Today, we depart London and set off towards the north of England. Our first destination is the renowned university city of Cambridge, where we will take in the impressive architecture of its colleges. Following lunch, we head to York, a city brimming with history. You'll have the opportunity to explore its magnificent cathedral, ancient Roman walls, and bustling shopping streets at your own pace. Later, we travel further north to the captivating medieval city of Durham, known for its remarkable cathedral and its proximity to the castle.
Day 4
Durham
Today, we journey into Scotland, stopping first in the charming town of Alnwick. Known for its impressive gardens and magnificent medieval castle, Alnwick gained fame as a filming location for the Harry Potter films. Our next destination is Edinburgh, where we aim to arrive around midday. As Scotland's capital and one of Northern Europe's most dynamic cities, Edinburgh is home to a monumental centre recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overlooking the city, Edinburgh Castle provides a spectacular backdrop to the steep streets and verdant parks. Here, we'll embark on a panoramic tour accompanied by a local guide, providing insight into the city's rich history and vibrant culture.
Day 5
Edinburgh
Today's adventure takes us deep into the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Our day begins with a leisurely coffee break and stroll in the quaint village of Pitlochry. We then journey northward to Inverness, positioned near the legendary Loch Ness. Here, we visit the historic Urquhart Castle, and from its grounds, we embark on a boat ride across the loch's enigmatic waters. Our journey continues through Fort Augustus with its intriguing sluice system and onward to Fort William, nestled at the base of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest peak. As we travel southwards, we traverse the scenic high plains � keep an eye out for lingering snow � before skirting the serene shores of Loch Lomond. We conclude our day in the vibrant city of Glasgow.
For those travelling from mid-November to February, our itinerary adjusts to maximise daylight and ensure road safety. We depart early from Edinburgh, visiting a traditional whisky distillery in charming Pitlochry. The excursion continues to Stirling, where we explore its historic centre, crowned by the formidable Stirling Castle. After a break for lunch and a photo stop at the striking sculptures of The Kelpies, we complete our day in Glasgow, arriving with time to explore the city's lively centre.
Day 6
Glasgow
Today, we depart from Glasgow, making our way through southern Scotland to the port of Cairnryan, where we will board a ferry bound for Northern Ireland. As we arrive in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, you'll notice the city's impressive resilience and emergence from its historical religious conflicts. After spending time in this monumental city, we proceed into the Republic of Ireland, reaching Dublin by the end of the day.
Day 7
Dublin
We commence our day with a panoramic excursion around Dublin, the serene capital of Ireland. Our walk meanders along the River Liffey's banks, where we'll explore lush parks and the historic university, appreciated for its architectural splendour. The bustling city centre, with its lively streets, invites exploration, and we will appreciate the exterior of the renowned Trinity College. The afternoon is yours to discover Dublin at your own pace. Please note that occasionally, depending on our arrival in Dublin and the available daylight, this tour might take place the previous afternoon.
Day 8
Dublin
After breakfast, our adventure concludes in Dublin, leaving you with cherished memories of the experiences we've shared.
