Itinerary

  • Day 1

    welcome to Bologna

Upon arrival in Bologna, make your way to the hotel—private transfer is available as an optional extra. In the evening, join a private cooking class at the home of a Cesarina, an expert cook certified to preserve Italy’s culinary heritage. You will learn the secrets behind three authentic Bolognese dishes and then enjoy tasting your creations, accompanied by a glass of local wine. Each participant has their own station with all the necessary tools and ingredients, making this a hands-on and engaging introduction to the region’s cuisine.

As you cycle through the city, you’ll pass notable landmarks including the Basilica of San Petronio, known for its unfinished facade, and the nearby Neptune Fountain. We’ll visit the Archiginnasio, home to Bologna’s oldest university, and the former Jewish Ghetto close to the iconic Two Towers.

The route also takes us along Via Zamboni, the heart of the university district, and Via del Pratello, a lively street filled with pubs, restaurants and beer gardens. At Cavaticcio Park, you’ll learn about Bologna’s history as a river port and discover its significant film library. This tour offers a comprehensive overview of the city’s rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere. We return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bologna.
