You’ll kick off with a private cooking class in a local’s home, mastering authentic Bolognese recipes paired with regional wine. Then, explore the city on a shared bike tour, discovering landmarks like the Basilica of San Petronio and the lively university district. The highlight is a day in the Motor Valley, visiting the Lamborghini and Ferrari museums to see iconic Italian cars up close. The pace is relaxed, with plenty of time to soak up Bologna’s vibrant atmosphere before you depart.
Itinerary
Day 1
welcome to Bologna
Upon arrival in Bologna, make your way to the hotel—private transfer is available as an optional extra. In the evening, join a private cooking class at the home of a Cesarina, an expert cook certified to preserve Italy’s culinary heritage. You will learn the secrets behind three authentic Bolognese dishes and then enjoy tasting your creations, accompanied by a glass of local wine. Each participant has their own station with all the necessary tools and ingredients, making this a hands-on and engaging introduction to the region’s cuisine.
Day 2
Explore Bologna’s Historic Centre
After breakfast, we set off on a shared bike tour to explore Bologna with a local guide, combining sustainability and fun. As you cycle through the city, you’ll pass notable landmarks including the Basilica of San Petronio, known for its unfinished facade, and the nearby Neptune Fountain. We’ll visit the Archiginnasio, home to Bologna’s oldest university, and the former Jewish Ghetto close to the iconic Two Towers.
The route also takes us along Via Zamboni, the heart of the university district, and Via del Pratello, a lively street filled with pubs, restaurants and beer gardens. At Cavaticcio Park, you’ll learn about Bologna’s history as a river port and discover its significant film library. This tour offers a comprehensive overview of the city’s rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere. We return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bologna.
Day 3
Discover Motor Valley
After breakfast, we set off on a small group tour to explore the renowned Motor Valley. Discover the history behind Italy’s most iconic cars as we visit the Lamborghini Museum, where you can admire early models like the Miura and Countach alongside the latest exclusive editions such as the Aventador SVJ.
Next, we head to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello to experience the legacy of the Prancing Horse. The tour concludes with a lunch at a local restaurant, featuring regional specialties. We then return to Bologna for the night.
Day 4
Bologna at Leisure & Depart
After breakfast, enjoy a final stroll through Bologna to soak up the atmosphere or pick up any last-minute souvenirs. When you’re ready, we provide an optional private transfer to the airport or train station to continue your journey.
