Day 2
La Paz/Sucre
After hopping on a flight to the city of Sucre the group will go on an orientation walk through the main square. Take advantage of free time in the afternoon to continue exploring on your own or book a more involved tour to get to know the city’s colonial architecture and historic sites.
Day 3
Potosi Countryside
After a free morning in Sucre the group will transfer to the southern highlands where you’ll stay in a historic hacienda. It’s a working farm that also offers travellers a rich cultural exchange with the resident family. After you spend some time seeing the whole farm you’ll have a farm-to-table dinner with your host family featuring tons of local specialties.
Day 4
Potosí/Uyuni
It’s a short drive to the centre of Potosí where you’ll go on a guided tour of the Casa Nacional de la Moneda. Afterwards, transfer to Uyuni which is home to the world’s largest salt flat. Drive across the mirror-like landscape and learn all about the role salt has played here.
Day 5
Uyuni
Go further into the salt pans and stop for a visit to the small community of Coquesa, located at the base of the Tunupa Volcano on the edge of the Salar. Enjoy a guided walk to learn about local life. Then have lunch on Incahuasi Island before continuing the exploration of the desert and its pans. Finish today with a sunset picnic on the salt flats.
