Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Tuscany!
Once you have arrived in Florence or Siena, you will make your way to your accommodation in the hilltop town of San Gimignano, known for its medieval towers and countryside views. Your hotel is set within the historic centre, giving you the chance to enjoy the quieter side of town once the day visitors have left. Check-in normally begins at 2:00 pm, but you may leave your bags at reception if you arrive earlier.
The rest of the day is yours to explore the lanes, sample local food, or simply enjoy the scenery. We share our insider tips throughout your stay on where to eat, what to see, and how to get around.
Please note: you may choose to upgrade to a nearby agritourism surrounded by vineyards and olive trees for a countryside escape.
Day 2
Wine, Scenery & Medieval Charm
At 10:30 am, we will set off together for a morning in the Chianti hills. We run a full Tuscany wine tour, taking you to three local wineries where we arrange tastings of regional wines such as Chianti Classico, Vernaccia and other Tuscan reds, along with samples of olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. At each stop, winemakers share their knowledge, and you gain a real sense of how these wines are produced.
We return to your accommodation at around 4:00 pm, and the rest of the day is free for you to enjoy as you wish. It is easy to take a direct bus to Siena if you would like to explore another historic town for the afternoon, or you may prefer to stay in San Gimignano for a relaxed evening and dinner.
Meeting Point: Tuscany on Wheels office, Strada di Sant’Appiano 9/I, Barberino Tavarnelle (FI)
Day 3
Farewell Tuscany
Your final morning is free for you to enjoy before checking out. If you would like to make the most of your time in Tuscany, you can choose from a range of optional activities such as a cooking class on a local farm, a one-hour horseback ride through the vineyards, hiring a Vespa for the morning, or relaxing at a nearby spa with heated indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and steam rooms. Our team is happy to help you arrange any activities you may be interested in.
After you have checked out, you can make your way to the airport for your onward jpurney. Safe Travels!
