Frequently asked questions

  • What is the age range of the tour?

We have an age range of 18 – 45 years old for our tours. Most of our guests are aged between 21-35 years old, though this range varies to slightly older with certain destinations, and are looking to experience our adventurous “flashpacking” style of travel. Our tours are perfect for people of all different backgrounds to share travel experiences with like-minded conscious fellow travellers.
  • How does this tour relate to your other Thailand tours?

This 20-day Expedition tour offers a deeper and more immersive experience compared to the shorter Snapshot and Classic Thailand tours. While the Snapshot tour focuses on Bangkok’s highlights and the Classic tour provides a balanced exploration of both Bangkok and Chiang Mai, this Expedition tour goes further. It combines cultural encounters, ethical wildlife experiences, trekking, and adds a beach and island exploration element in the final week. This tour is 2 nights longer than our 18-day Expedition as it travels up to Khao Sok National Park on day 18 to enjoy two days exploring the area.
  • Where do we spend the first night on tour?

Your first night will be spent at Rambuttri Village Hotel - 95 Ram Buttri Aly, Chana Songkhram, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
  • Where does the tour end?

On the final day of the tour, you will be transferred to Surat Thani Airport. If you're not wanting to be taken to the airport your tour will end after checking out of your accommodation in Khao Sok.
  • Where should I fly into?

    Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)
  • Will I be picked up from the airport?

Yes, your tour includes an airport pick-up on day 1. Please ensure you inform our reservations team of your incoming flight details.
  • How much spending money do I need for this tour?

Spending varies from person to person and you'll receive a spending guide in your welcome pack, but $30-40 USD per day is plenty on average. Tipping is not mandatory int Thailand, but it is a nice way to show appreciation for good service. We usually find it easier if your group leader says how much the tip should be and everyone can pitch in together to form a kitty which will cover you for any hotels or restaurants we visit on tour together.
  • Can I bring a 20kg suitcase on this trip?

We wouldn't recommend bringing more than 15-20kg on this tour as it will be more comfortable for you to carry less. We will also be taking an internal flight with a luggage limit of 20kg.
  • Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Restaurants and eateries in Thailand often offer vegetarian options, and it's usually easy to find delicious and satisfying meals without meat. Please notify us of any dietary requirements you have before arriving on day 1 so we can arrange this for you where meals are included.
  • Will I have any free time during the tour?

Yes, there are a couple of days with free time for you to explore on your own. There is a full day in Ao Nang free to relax and enjoy the stunning beaches and area.
  • Is travel insurance required?

Yes, travel insurance is required for all of our tours. It should cover medical expenses, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and personal liability. Proof of insurance may be requested before the tour begins.
  • Is there WiFi throughout the trip?

Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and the Ao Nang area offer excellent WiFi and mobile reception, making it easy to stay connected on the tour. You may want to consider getting a local SIM card from a local provider. These will be available at the airport and many convenience stores and have affordable data plans for your short time in Thailand.
  • Is there safe drinking water in Thailand?

In Thailand, tap water is generally not recommended as safe to drink. While on tour we recommend sticking to bottled water, using refill stations, or using water purification methods to help you stay hydrated safely.
  • Is Thailand safe to travel?

Thaialnd is generally a safe and welcoming destination for travellers. It's advisable to stay informed about local customs and respect cultural norms, especially when visiting temples and religous sites. We provide more details about this when you receive your welcome pack.
  • What is the rooming situation like?

During this tour, you'll stay in a mix of hotels, eco-lodges, and local homestays, typically in twin rooms and some multi-share. Single upgrades are available for those seeking more privacy.
