After your leisure break, take an included transfer back to Salvador for your onward flight.

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Salvador

Welcome to Salvador, a coastal gem and the capital of Bahia state in northeastern Brazil. On arrival, you will be collected and transferred to your hotel (this included transfer may be shared with other passengers). The rest of your first day in Salvador is at leisure.

Tour Style: Included sightseeing in Salvador is on a shared basis, meaning you will be joined by other travellers for this tour.

  • Day 2

    Salvador Sightseeing

Discover the highlights of Salvador on this full-day tour (8 hours). Start at Barra’s Lighthouse, a picturesque spot perfect for photos, before driving through Corredor da Vitoria and Campo Grande, famous for hosting Carnival’s lively trios eletricos. Next, explore the historic centre of Pelourinho on foot. Stroll through narrow streets lined with colonial mansions, squares, churches, and art galleries. Visit two of its most iconic sites - choose from the Sao Francisco Church, the Basilica Cathedral, the Casa do Olodum and more.

Pause for lunch at a local restaurant in the heart of Salvador, before heading out to explore the lower part of the city, beginning at the Itapagipe Peninsula. Stop at Sorveteria da Ribeira for exotic fruit-flavoured ice cream before visiting the famous Senhor do Bonfim Church, a symbol of religious harmony in Bahia. Continue to Fort Mont Serrat to see historic weaponry and enjoy breathtaking views of All Saints Bay from nearby Ponta de Humaita. Your tour ends at Mercado Modelo, Salvador’s largest craft market. After some time to browse the stalls, you will be taken back to the hotel.

If you would like to extend your day, consider joining an optional percussion class, where a qualified teacher will show you how to play traditional Brazilian instruments such as the atabaque, agogo, and timbal.

  • Day 3

    Salvador to Praia do Forte

Salvador - Praia do Forte. Tuck into breakfast at the hotel before check out and your included transfer to the coastal village of Praia do Forte (transfer may be shared with other travellers). Praia do Forte is known as one of the best beaches in Brazil, boasting crystal clear waters, white sand and an ecological reserve home to endangered breeding sea turtles, as well as other creatures.

  • Day 4

    Beach Time

Enjoy two full free days of sun, sea, sand and relaxation in Praia do Forte. If you've had your fix on sunbathing, consider heading out to explore the surrounding area. You could embark on a whale watching tour (seasonal, July - October), hike in the Reserva da Sapiranga or head to the Tamar Project, which rescues and rehabilitates sea turtles and other marine life.

  • Day 6

    Salvador

Praia do Forte - Salvador. After breakfast and hotel check out, your tour comes to an end. There is an included transfer to the airport in Salvador.
