Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Cairo!
Once you have arrived in Cairo, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for check-in. The tour manager will assist with check-in and provide a briefing on the itinerary and pick-up times for each tour. You will then have the rest of the day at your leisure.
Please note: Your guide may adjust the itinerary due to weather, road conditions, or unforeseen issues, always prioritising safety. Our aim is to ensure all key programme highlights are experienced.
Day 2
Pyramids & Saqqara Day Tour
Cairo - Pyramids of Giza - Cairo. Today, you'll be picked up from your hotel for a guided excursion to the Giza Plateau. Here, you'll explore the world-famous Pyramids of Giza, Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. You'll then visit the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, believed to represent King Chephren. After, you will make your way to the Saqqara complex, where you will see the first pyramid built, the Djoser Pyramid, before returning to the hotel.
Day 3
New Grand Egyptian Museum & Journey to Marsa Matrouh
Cairo - Marsa Matrouh. This morning, you will venture to the New Grand Egyptian Museum, situated just 2 kilometres from the iconic Giza Pyramids. As one of the largest archaeological museums in the world, it houses an extraordinary collection of artefacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb and countless relics from ancient Egypt’s fascinating past.
After taking time to explore its impressive galleries, you’ll continue your journey with a scenic transfer along the Mediterranean coast to Marsa Matrouh. Once you have checked in you will have the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4
Marsa Matrouh to Siwa Oasis
Marsa Matrouh - Siwa Oasis. Today, you will be met at the hotel for your onward transfer to Siwa Oasis. The journey takes you west through the vast desert landscape, offering a glimpse of Egypt’s dramatic scenery as you travel towards this remote and tranquil oasis.
Once we have arrived and checked into our accommodation, we will enjoy breakfast before we explore the atmospheric ruins of Shali, the ancient heart of Siwa. The day continues with time to unwind by the strikingly clear Siwa Salt Lakes, perfect for a refreshing swim. As evening approaches, watch the sky transform at sunset before soaking in a natural hot spring at a desert campsite. Later, we will enjoy dinner at a traditional Siwan restaurant.
Day 5
Ancient Tombs, Oracle Temple & Sunset by the Lake
After breakfast, you’ll set off for a day of discovery in Siwa. You’ll explore the Mountain of the Dead, where ancient tombs are carved into the rock, before making your way to the historic Oracle Temple of Amun.
At midday, you can relax by Cleopatra’s Spring and enjoy your lunch in this peaceful setting. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to Western Lake, where you can savour Siwan tea and snacks as you watch the sunset. Your day concludes with a candlelit dinner at Taziry Eco-Village before returning to your accommodation.
Day 6
4x4 Safari & Desert Dinner under the Stars
This morning, you’ll set out on an exciting full-day 4x4 safari across the sweeping dunes of the Great Sand Sea. Along the way, pause for a private picnic lunch surrounded by endless desert views. As the afternoon unfolds, you will have the opportunity to opt to try sandboarding before watching the sun set over the golden sands. The day finishes with a memorable private dinner beneath the stars in the heart of the desert.
Day 7
Journey to Alexandria & City Highlights Tour
Siwa Oasis - Alexandria. Today, you’ll depart from your hotel in Siwa and travel towards Alexandria. On arrival, your exploration begins at Pompey’s Pillar, an impressive monument built in honour of Emperor Diocletian. Next, visit the fascinating Catacombs, the largest Roman burial site in Egypt, carved deep into the rock. You’ll then continue to the Qaitbay Citadel, a fortress built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, before concluding your tour with a visit to the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Day 8
Alexandria to Cairo
Alexandria - Cairo. After breakfast, you will check out of the accommodation in Alexandria before transferring to Cairo. Once you have checked in, you will have the rest of the day at leisure to further explore Cairo, enjoy a coffee at a cafe or relax.
Day 9
Departure from Cairo
After your final breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to explore Cairo a little more, do some last-minute shopping, or simply relax before your transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Safe travels!
