Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Spain to Morocco

Costa del Sol – Tangier (Morocco) – Casablanca. We depart Costa del Sol and cross the Strait of Gibraltar by ferry, enjoying views of the Mediterranean Sea and the distant Rif Mountains as we sail to Tangier. We then continue to the economic capital, Casablanca. Upon arrival, we will check in and enjoy dinner.

Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as English. Passengers must clear customs with their own luggage and are allowed one piece each; passport details must be provided 72 hours before departure. The itinerary is subject to minor modifications without affecting overall services.

Meeting point: Hotel Sol Principe, P.º del Colorado, 26, 29620 Torremolinos, Málaga at 6:30.

  • Day 2

    Casablanca to Marrakech

Casablanca – Marrakech. After breakfast, we begin with panoramic views of Casablanca before visiting the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world and second only to Mecca. We’ll admire its dramatic oceanfront location and explore the impressive exterior, followed by free time to stroll or relax.

We then travel onwards to Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most vibrant imperial cities. After lunch, we visit the Koutoubia Mosque, a city landmark with its soaring minaret, and continue to the 19th-century Bahia Palace, an ornate masterpiece crafted by artisans from Fes.

Later, we explore the historic Jewish quarter known as Mellah and pass through the bustling Kissaría Square en route to Djmaa El Fna. This lively square, a UNESCO-listed cultural treasure, is filled with storytellers, snake charmers, dancers and street performers. We then wind through the city’s souk, with narrow alleys, colourful stalls and traditional guilds, before enjoying free time to explore at your own pace.

  • Day 3

    Marrakech to Alt Benhaddou

Marrakech – High Atlas – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou. This morning, you’ll have free time to explore Marrakech at your own pace, wandering its vibrant souks, relaxing in a traditional café, or visiting hidden riads and gardens off the beaten path.

At noon, we depart Marrakech and journey to Aït Benhaddou, travelling through the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2,256 metres, linking Marrakech with Ouarzazate and serving as the gateway to the Sahara.

In the afternoon, we arrive at Morocco’s most famous kasbah, Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning earthen architecture and frequent appearances in Hollywood films.

  • Day 4

    Alt Benhaddou to Merzouga

Aït Benhaddou – Todra Gorge – Merzouga. Today, we travel through the valleys surrounding Kelaa M’Gouna, celebrated for rose cultivation, and Boumalne du Dades, known for extensive gorges popular with hikers and climbers. We’ll stop to admire the Todra Gorges, towering up to 300 metres.

Our journey then continues towards the Sahara Desert. Legend tells of a wealthy family who, having refused aid to a poor woman and her son, were buried beneath the sands near Arfoud—now the site of the impressive Erg Chebbi dunes, about 50 km away. We then make our way to accommodation, where you can choose to stay in a hotel or a tent among the dunes (please enquire at booking).

  • Day 5

    Merzouga to Arfoud

Merzouga – Rissani – Arfoud. After breakfast, enjoy the morning at leisure at the camp or opt for a 4x4 tour through the giant dunes of Erg Chebbi, exploring lush green valleys. Learn about the lifestyle of the surrounding villages, markedly different from city life, and visit the Khamlia musicians.

After returning, we depart for Arfoud, where you’ll have the afternoon at leisure. Later, enjoy dinner at the accommodation.

  • Day 6

    Arfoud to Fes

Arfoud – Errachidia – Ifrane – Fes. After breakfast among the dunes, we leave Arfoud and the desert behind, travelling towards Fes. Our route crosses the Middle Atlas, passing rocky terrain near Er Rich, lush palm groves, open plains, forests of Azrou, and snow-capped peaks around Ifrane.

Later, we arrive in the religious capital of Morocco, Fes, where we check in and enjoy dinner.

  • Day 7

    Fes City Tour

This morning, we tour the intellectual and spiritual heart of Morocco. A panoramic drive takes us past the royal palace and its iconic seven gates of Dar Al-Makhzen before we delve into the medina of Fes El Bali. This UNESCO-listed old city is Morocco’s oldest and largest, with 785 mosques and more than 2,000 alleys and squares forming a rich historical maze. We walk from Bab Boujloud to Es-Seffarine Square, tracing the city’s evolution from the 9th to 19th centuries.

Along the way, we explore its architecture, artisan quarters—including leather tanners and seamstresses—and visit a medersa. The tour ends to the sound of copper hammered in traditional workshops. Lunch is included at a local restaurant; the rest of the day is free at leisure.

  • Day 8

    The Blue City & Tangier

Fes - Chefchaouen - Tangier. Today, we are visiting the iconic Blue City of Chefchaouen, renowned as one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities in Morocco. Stroll through its narrow, blue-painted streets leading to Outta El Hamman Square and enjoy free time to explore. After your free time, we will make our way to our final destination for today, the port city of Tangier.

  • Day 9

Return to the Costa del Sol

Tangier - Costa del Sol (Spain). Enjoy breakfast and spend the morning at your leisure until it's time to depart and board the ferry back to Spain. On arrival, we'll make our way back to the Costa del Sol, where our tour will conclude. Safe travels.

Please note: On most departures, the tour ends in the Costa del Sol town of Torremolinos - the exact drop off point and time will be communicated to you.
