Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Rome

    Welcome to Rome, the start of your exciting journey! Upon arrival, we�ll arrange your hotel transfer, after which you'll have some free time to relax or explore at your leisure. In the afternoon, look out for information about the beginning of your adventure, displayed on the boards in the hotel reception area. Please note that your tour group may change at various points along the route as travellers join or depart at different stages. Rest assured, the maximum group size will always remain within limits to ensure a comfortable experience. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.

  • Day 2

    Rome

    On our second day in Rome, we embark on a captivating exploration of this historic city. Our morning begins with a three-hour guided tour, blending a walking journey through the heart of Imperial Rome with a scenic bus ride. As we traverse this remarkable city, you'll witness its cultural and historical richness, with highlights including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, and the Imperial Forums. The iconic sites of the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the grand Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and the formidable Castel Sant�Angelo further showcase Rome�s magnificent past.

    Our tour wraps up at the awe-inspiring Vatican City by around 11 a.m. Here, you have the chance to delve deeper, with an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the stunning Sistine Chapel. As evening approaches, we will transfer you to the lively Trastevere neighbourhood. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and welcoming eateries, it's a delightful place to unwind and perhaps enjoy a delicious Italian dinner. We will return to the hotel by approximately 8:30 p.m.

  • Day 3

    Rome

    Today, we embark on an exploration journey towards the Adriatic coast, traversing the breathtaking scenery of the Apennine Mountains. Our first stop is the San Giovanni in Venere Abbey, an exquisite example of 11th-century architecture, nestled on the remnants of an ancient Roman temple. Entrance to the abbey is included. Next, we head to Termoli, a picturesque coastal town distinguished by its beachside charm and historic old town, encircled by ancient walls with attractions like a 13th-century castle and a Romanesque cathedral. You will have time to enjoy lunch and take a leisurely stroll. Later, we continue to Bari, a city with a rich history dating back to pre-Roman times. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the old town, characterized by its narrow streets and beautiful churches, all embodying the vibrant spirit of southern Italy.

  • Day 4

    Bari

    Today, we'll journey along the scenic coastline to the historic city of Brindisi, a fortified port where you might take a refreshing stroll by the sea and marvel at the striking Roman column that marks the end of the ancient Appian Way. As you wander through the old quarter, you'll experience the blend of history and charm that defines this city. Later, we'll proceed to Lecce, a city acclaimed for its exquisite baroque architecture, often referred to as the "Florence of the South." The historic centre boasts intricately detailed churches and buildings, providing a feast for the eyes and a perfect spot for lunch and a leisurely walk.

    In the afternoon, our adventure continues to Gallipoli, a coastal city perched on the Ionian Sea. Founded by the Greeks and dubbed "beautiful town," Gallipoli's old town is a delightful labyrinth of narrow streets and historic architecture, shaped by Arab, Norman, and Aragonese influences. Highlights include a majestic cathedral, an imposing castle, and ancient city walls that speak volumes of the town's storied past. As evening approaches, we'll return to Brindisi for the night, offering you time to relax and reflect on the day's journey.

  • Day 5

    Brindisi

    Today, we embark on a cultural exploration of two remarkable towns. Our first destination is the enchanting Alberobello, famous for its distinctive trulli � unique conical houses with stacked stone roofs that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a quintessential example of Italian rural architecture. Next, we venture to Matera, situated in the Basilicata region, celebrated for its ancient historic centre and the Sassi di Matera. Here, you'll find a fascinating complex of dwellings and buildings carved into rock, some of the oldest continuously inhabited human settlements in the world, also recognised as a World Heritage Site. After enjoying an included lunch in Matera, we will continue our journey through the stunning mountain landscapes of Basilicata and Campania, arriving in Naples by the evening. You will have free time to explore this vibrant city at your leisure.

  • Day 6

    Naples

    After enjoying breakfast, we will make our way to the port of Naples and board a ferry bound for the idyllic Island of Capri. We suggest taking the funicular up to the main town, where you can wander the charming streets and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Once we've had lunch, we will catch another ferry to Sorrento, a delightful tourist town nestled below dramatic cliffs. Here, you�ll have some time to explore at your leisure. Our journey continues as we head to the Gulf of Salerno, where we will stay in the city of Salerno for the night.

  • Day 7

    Salerno

    Our day begins with a fascinating exploration of Pompeii, the ancient Roman city preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. We'll have tickets and a guided tour included so you can appreciate the history and significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. After our morning adventure, we'll travel to Naples, one of Italy's most intriguing cities with deep historical roots and a vibrant atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to explore the expansive historic quarter�another World Heritage Site�and take a break to enjoy lunch. Our journey then continues to Cassino, home to the breathtaking abbey that played a pivotal role during World War II. In the evening, we'll make our way back to Rome, marking the end of a day rich in history and discovery.

  • Day 8

    Rome

    Today, we depart Rome and travel north through stunning scenery to reach Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to the Michelangelo Viewpoint, which offers a breathtaking panorama of the city. Following this, we will walk to Florence�s historic centre, where you�ll have some free time to enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we embark on a guided walking tour with a local expert through Tuscany's capital, esteemed as the birthplace of the Renaissance. Here, you�ll discover remarkable landmarks including the Gothic masterpiece of the Duomo, the iconic Ponte Vecchio with its charming goldsmith shops, and Piazza della Signoria, the city's political hub adorned with the striking medieval town hall. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to explore at leisure. For your comfort, we suggest wearing comfortable shoes during your visit to Florence.

  • Day 9

    Florence

    We begin the day with an early departure from Florence, venturing north through the scenic Apennines towards Venice. Once there, we will take a boat transfer to the heart of the city, allowing us to explore the stunning San Marco district. Here, you�ll have the opportunity to admire the iconic Basilica and the Campanile, two of Venice's most renowned landmarks. We�ll also visit a Murano Glass Factory to observe the intricate craftsmanship involved in traditional glass-making. Tonight, we will stay in the Mestre area, conveniently located for your comfort and relaxation.

  • Day 10

    Venice

    After breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you to reflect on the wonderful memories created during your tour. With the canals of Venice behind you, take a moment to reminisce about the diverse landscapes and rich histories you've experienced.
