Day 2
Havana Sightseeing & Classic Car Tour
This morning, the group explores Old Havana on foot with the tour guide, taking in major landmarks along with a few hidden local gems. While a half day isn’t enough to see everything, the guide will share tips for those planning to spend extra time here post-tour.
In the afternoon, we hop into classic American cars for a drive beyond Old Havana, cruising through the distinct neighbourhoods of Central Habana, Vedado, and Miramar. A highlight is the iconic Revolucion Square, where we pause to see the towering images of Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos—symbols of Cuba’s revolutionary history.
Day 3
Fusterlandia Visit & Vinales
Havana - Vinales. Leaving Havana, we make a stop in the seaside town of Jaimanitas to visit the Gaudi-inspired community project known as Fusterlandia—named after artist Jose Fuster. There’s time to explore his mosaic-covered home and the colourful neighbourhood transformed by his work.
From here, we head west to the lush province of Pinar del Rio and the charming town of Vinales. Set in a dramatic valley framed by limestone mogotes, this UNESCO-listed rural landscape is known for its traditional farming methods and world-class tobacco.
We spend time getting to know the town, try our hand at crafting the perfect Cuban mojito, and later in the afternoon, enjoy a salsa lesson—ideal preparation for a fun night out in vibrant Vinales.
Estimated driving time: 3 hours
Day 4
Vinales Sightseeing
This morning, we explore the Vinales Valley on foot—a long-time favourite among past travellers. The walk takes us through the heart of the UNESCO-listed landscape, passing farms and visiting local homes, including that of a tobacco farmer who’ll share the traditional process behind Cuba’s famous cigars.
In the evening, we visit a beautiful organic farm overlooking the valley. As the sun sets, we enjoy a delicious dinner in the farmhouse, surrounded by stunning views.
Day 5
Bay of Pigs & Cienfuegos
Vinales - Playa Larga (Bay of Pigs) - Cienfuegos. Today we travel from Vinales to the coastal city of Cienfuegos, following the Caribbean coastline. Along the way, we stop at the Bay of Pigs for a chance to snorkel directly from the shore—gear can be hired at a small cost. For those preferring to stay dry, it's a peaceful spot to relax under the shade of a sea grape tree.
Cienfuegos, shaped by its French heritage, is known for its wide central square and charming boulevard that stretches from the city centre to the tip of the peninsula. Here, we’ll see the striking Palacio del Valle—a lavish mansion blending architectural styles, built by a wealthy merchant. Its ornate design and intricate detail make it a true highlight of the city. Entrance to the mansion is included in the tour.
Estimated driving time: 8 hours
Day 6
Cienfuegos to Trinidad
Cienfuegos - Trinidad. It’s a short drive from Cienfuegos to Trinidad, leaving most of the day free to enjoy this vibrant colonial town, often the most popular destination in Cuba with visitors. Rich in history and beautifully preserved, Trinidad’s compact size makes it perfect to explore on foot. Its grand architecture reflects the wealth of the sugar trade during the 18th and 19th centuries, built on the labour of enslaved Africans.
There’s time to wander before we dive into a lively percussion and music session with a local maestro—a fun, hands-on way to connect with Cuba’s famous rhythms and culture. We round off the day with a sunset cocktail, then have the evening free to enjoy Trinidad’s buzzing nightlife. Whether with the group or on your own, there’s no shortage of open-air restaurants, bars, and live music to discover.
Estimated driving time: 2 hours
Day 7
Trinidad at Leisure
Today is all about taking it easy. The morning is free to relax or explore at your own pace, followed by an afternoon at the stunning Ancon Beach.
For those after something more active, optional experiences include a three-hour hike to a nearby waterfall, a private salsa lesson, or simply soaking up Trinidad’s charm by visiting museums or enjoying live street music.
This evening, we enjoy an included dinner at one of Trinidad’s excellent paladares, then head out to experience the city’s lively music scene—whether it’s traditional Cuban, smooth jazz, or upbeat salsa, there’s something for everyone.
Day 8
Trinidad to Santa Clara & Havana
Trinidad - Santa Clara - Havana. Today we journey back to Havana, stopping en route in Santa Clara to visit the Che Guevara Museum and Mausoleum. A pivotal and polarising figure in Latin American history, Che holds particular significance in Cuba. His remains were brought here from Bolivia in 1990, and the site features a towering bronze statue, an eternal flame, and a museum showcasing his personal belongings.
After stopping for lunch along the way, we return to Havana for the final night of the tour. This evening, the guide will suggest a range of dining options and places to enjoy live music, dancing, or a final drink together. You're also welcome to explore on your own, with the guide happy to offer recommendations.
Estimated driving time: 7 hours
Day 9
Havana
Our Cuba tour comes to an end today after breakfast and hotel check out. The guide will be around until midday should you need assistance. Make your own way to the airport or your next destination. Safe travels!
