Once we have everyone picked up, we begin our 2 hour journey into the Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park. We make a quick stop in Canmore, where you can stock up on last minute supplies, like bug spray, sunscreen and alcohol if you desire.

We arrive at our campsite in Lake Louise and go through a detailed orientation of your Rockies camping tour, and set up tents with the help of your guide.

Enjoy a delicious welcome dinner and get to know your new tour friends around the campfire.

    Meals: D

    Driving: 2 Hours

Pick Up : 2 pm, Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel

  • Day 2

    Land of Ice and Rock

We don’t waste any time on your Banff camping package and head straight into the heart of the Rockies, exploring the Icefields Parkway today. A short drive from our campsite in Lake Louise, bring us to the Icefields Parkway, which is one of the most photographed and famous highways in the world. You will soon see why!

As we enter Jasper National Park, we are greeted by the most imposing glacier in the Rockies, known as Athabasca Glacier and part of the Columbia Icefields. You will have the chance to walk to the base of it, option to go for a guided glacier walk, or take a guided hike to a viewpoint far above the glacier for some amazing bird’s eye views and a tasty picnic.

    Optional Activity: Guided Glacier Icewalk

Typical Hike: Wilcox Pass (10 km, 450 m Elevation, 3-4 Hours)

    Driving: 2 Hours

    Meals: B,L,D

  • Day 3

    Into the Wild!

The Icefields Parkway is too much to appreciate in just one day of your Banff camping trip, so we head up there for another day of spectacular beauty and world class views.

Today we venture to Bow Lake and go for a guided hike, either to a high alpine lake, or to see a waterfall cascading down from a glacier and feeding into the lake below. Either way, you are up for some classic Rockies beauty, pristine air and great photo opportunities.

After your guided hike, we head to Peyto Lake, so you can admire and photograph one of the most recognizable lakes in the Rockies!

Typical Hike: Bow Glacier Falls (9 km, 300 m elevation, 3 hours)

    Driving: 1.5 Hours

    Meals: B,L,D

  • Day 4

    Pioneers and Swiss Mountaineers

Today we hike right by our camp, at Lake Louise! There are few words to describe what hiking among the mountains around Lake Louise in the morning light are like. If we are lucky, ice may break off from the cliffs far above (and safely across the valley), and crash down with thunderous booms echoing around the valley. The cliffs here are sheer and commanding, which is why the early Swiss visitors helped to pioneer mountain climbing in the Rockies some 150 years ago. It’s likely that we will hike far above Lake Louise and visit a historic alpine teahouse, once frequented by early tourists to the area and still in use today!

After our hike we visit Moraine Lake, perhaps one of the most sought after and tough to get to attractions in Banff National Park. The waters are a stunning clear blue, reflecting the majestic peaks behind it.

Later in the afternoon we head 1.5 hours West, passing through Yoho National Park to Golden, where we will be based for the next 3 nights. Golden is a lesser known mountain town in BC, which lies right between 3 national parks.

Typical Hike: Plain of Six Glaciers (15 km, 700 m elevation, 4-6 hours)

    Driving: 1.5 hours

    Meals: B,L,D

  • Day 5

    In Awe in Yoho

Did you know that “Yoho” is a local indigenous word meaning “To Feel In Awe”? Well, you will certainly feel this way as we explore Yoho National Park on your guided Banff tour package today!

We head deep into the Yoho Valley, coming face to face with the highest waterfall in the Canadian Rockies, which is so tall most of the water turns to mist before it hits the ground! You can get so close to the waterfall that you’d be soaked if you want, which can be a nice idea on a hot sunny day!

We hike the Iceline Trail, getting up high and with a bird’s eye view down on Takakkaw Falls, which suddenly doesn’t look so big anymore! Our guided hike on the Iceline Trail brings us right past the Emerald Glacier, which towers right above us for a really cool perspective. This is one of the best hiking trails in the Rockies, but so few people know about it, so with any luck, we will have the alpine almost totally to ourselves!

Typical Hike: Iceline Trail (12 km, 500 m Elevation, 4-5 Hours)

    Driving: 1.5 Hours

    Meals: B,L,D

  • Day 6

    Kicked by the Horse

Some get kicked by the horse and some kick it. Want to see which group you’re in? This is your chance to change up your perspective and raft down the famed Kicking Horse River with some expert guides to make it fun, but keep you safe. Here’s a cool fact: the very same water you saw falling down Takakkaw Falls yesterday has taken roughly 16 hours to rush down the valley bottom and meet you the next day as your raft in it. This is a fun rafting adventure that is beginner friendly and very safe. Perfect for rafting enthusiasts or first timers. Try it out! If you don’t feel like getting soaked from head to toe in glacial water, you can choose to go for another guided hike in Yoho National Park with your guide. Time permitting, you may also be able to squeeze in a visit to Wapta Falls to see the entire Kicking Horse river plunge over a ledge in one thunderous rush!

    Optional Activity: Rafting ($165)

Typical Hike: Paget Lookout (6 km, 300 m Elevation, 2-3 hours)

    Driving: 1 hour

    Meals: B,L,D

  • Day 7

    Last but not Lost!

On the final day of your Banff camping tour we have one more delicious breakfast and pack up camp. After loading the van we head through Yoho NP bound for the famous mountain town of Banff, where we stop to soak in the historic mineral springs, that first brought travelers and visitors to Banff.

After a nice relaxing soak, we depart Banff and drop you off in downtown Calgary at 2 pm.

    Driving: 3.5 Hours

    Meals: B,L

Drop Off: 2 pm, Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel

  • I just got back from the 7 day Rockies tour and could not have had a better week. Everything about this trip was great, from the camping to the food to the amazing hikes and rafting trip. For my first time in Canada this trip was a perfect way to explore the area, going to a mix of the popular places that you want to see and to the hidden gems you wouldn't find without a guide. The hikes were varied, we swam in lakes, climbed some mountains and went on the white water rafting trip (which was great!). Our guides, Jafar and Morgan, were brilliant. Jafar's cooking was great and far exceeds what you expect to eat on a camping trip - the cheese/meat boards made mid-hike with a stunning view a highlight. Both have great knowledge of all of the hikes/nature/plants you see and were just great at what they do. The group of people on the trip were also great, a perfectly varied group and we had some great evenings at the camp. All in all an amazing trip.

  • This tour company is just above and beyond in what they do. The camping food was literally blowing my mind on this trip: seafood risotto, medditerenian dinner with grilled halumi cheese and cesar cocktails, Mexican dinner with 3 options of tacos and margaritas, a fondu on top of the mountain, a proper cheeseboard with grapes and smoked salmon on top of another mountain, freshly made cinnamon buns, chili, etc. Laurence and Justine, our French-Canadian guides are absolute sweethearts and I am so blessed to meet so many amazing people on this trip!

Frequently asked questions

  • What are the sleeping arrangements like?

We like to call if comfort camping! We use 3-4 person tents to ensure there is lots of space and headroom, so you don't feel cramped. There are also two doors and two separate areas for luggage to be kept, so it is very easy and comfortable to share a tent with someone. We pair two campers in a 3 person tent, or 3 campers in a 4 person tent, to ensure there is lots of space. Our sleeping pads are second to none. They are nice and wide, and over 6 feet long to ensure you have plenty of space. They inflate to 3 inches (7.5 cm) thick and you can opt to inflate it so it is firm or soft, depending on how you like it. The top of the mattress is a soft fabric to increase comfort as well. With these mattresses you can sleep on rocks and roots and not feel a thing, but we won't make you do that! It is common for first time guests to be concerned that they will have a hard time camping, with sore backs etc. We have actually never had someone on a camping tour that was uncomfortable and everyone has been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were while camping.
  • I've never been camping - is this OK?

Of course! Our tours are deisnged to be the perfect intorduction to camping for first timers, and also fun for veteran campers. We provide all the equipment and show you how to use it. If you've never set up a tent before, you will be a pro on the first night. All you really need on our tours is a thirst for adventure and a smile!
  • Are there showers? What about toilets?

We aim for showers as often as possible. Expect them most nights. (some are coin operated) There is always access throughout each day to toilets and outhouses. You won’t have to go in the bush!
  • What is the food like? Can you accommodate my diet?

The food is one of the best parts of our camping tours. Your guides go to great lengths to bring high quality groceries, much of which is organic and locally grown. You will likely be surprised what we cook up for you. Some examples include: Grilled salmon with asparagus and pesto pasta, tequila lime shrimp tacos with mango slaw, tender grilled steaks with roasted veggies and potatoes. Have a tricky diet? Don't sweat! We are probably the best company around at providing a top notch menu and we can cater to almost any diet. Many of our guides are vegans, or gluten free themselves, so it's pretty normal for us. We can accommodate vegan/ vegetarian, gluten free, kosher, halaal, wheat free, lactose intolerant and whatever else you can think of.
  • How strenuous is it?

This hiking tour is suitable for anyone reasonably fit. You should be able to walk for 2-3 hours uphill and be able to maintain a conversation. Our 2 guides are there to ensure you can hike at a comfortable pace and don’t feel rushed. Hike 8-14 km each day with moderate elevation (500-1000 m). We stop for snacks/ photos lots!
  • Do I need a backpack or will a suitcase work?

Your luggage will be transported in a trailer and you won’t have to carry it on your back so any type of luggage is just fine. We have lots of space to store your luggage in the trailer.
