Summary
Set off from Madrid on this 13-day escorted tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Visit Lisbon, Fatima and Caceres, and check out the Plaza de Espana in Seville. Explore the Cordoba Mosque, relax on the Costa del Sol and cross the Strait of Gibraltar to visit Rabat, Fes, Chefchaouen and Tangier. In Granada, explore the Alhambra and end your trip back in the Spanish capital.
Itinerary
Day 1
Madrid to Trujillo & Lisbon
Madrid - Trujillo (Spain) - Lisbon (Portugal). We depart from the bus terminal at 7:45/8:00, heading toward the Extremadura region and arriving in Trujillo, the birthplace of several Spanish conquistadors. Enjoy free time to explore the impressive Plaza Mayor and soak up the town’s historic charm.
We then cross the Portuguese border and continue to Lisbon, the capital city located at the mouth of the Tagus River. In the evening, there's an optional night tour to enjoy a traditional Fado show with Portuguese music and song.
Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as in English.

Day 2
Lisbon City Tour
This morning, we embark on a panoramic city tour of Lisbon, taking in Edward VII Park’s hilltop viewpoint, Rossio Square, Liberdade Avenue, and the traditional Madragoa District, where Fado music was born. We continue to the Belem District to view the iconic Tower of Belém, the Monument to the Navigators, and the impressive Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture.
The afternoon is at leisure, or alternatively you can op to join an optional excursion to Sintra, Estoril, or Cascais.is.
Day 3
Exploring Fatima
Lisbon - Fátima - Lisbon. This morning, after breakfast, we depart for Fátima, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, known for the reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Here, you can enjoy free time to visit the Sanctuary, including the Chapel of the Apparitions and the Basilica, before we return to Lisbon for the evening.
Day 4
Lisbon to Caceres & Seville
Lisbon (Portugal) - Caceres (Spain) - Seville. We begin our day with breakfast before departing for the Spanish border and continuing to Caceres. You’ll have free time to explore its Plaza Mayor and stroll through the old city, known for its remarkably preserved medieval quarter, a recognised World Heritage site.
You can also enjoy lunch at one of the many spots in Caceres. We then continue south to Andalucía, arriving in Seville, where dinner is included.
Day 5
Seville City Tour
Today, we begin with a city tour of Seville, visiting María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the magnificent Cathedral and its Giralda Tower, and the charming Barrio de Santa Cruz, once the Jewish quarter.
You’ll have the option to take a cruise on the Guadalquivir River for panoramic views of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or explore the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, you may choose to attend a flamenco show.
Day 6
Cordoba Exploration
Seville - Córdoba. Enjoy breakfast this morning before departing for Córdoba. Once arrived, begin a walking tour at the Almodóvar Gate, a historic Moorish gateway leading into the old town, before exploring the narrow, whitewashed streets of the Jewish Quarter. Then visit the renowned Mosque-Cathedral, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture with its striking horseshoe arches and later Christian additions.
The afternoon is free for leisure activities. Later, make your way to the accommodation, where dinner will be enjoyed.
Day 7
White Villages, Ronda & Costa del Sol
Cordoba - Ronda - Costa del Sol. After breakfast, we depart for the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Admire the striking hilltop villages with whitewashed houses, set against rugged landscapes, and enjoy some free time to explore Ronda, famous for its dramatic El Tajo gorge and the historic Puente Nuevo bridge. We then continue on to Costa del Sol, where we will make our way to our accommodation and have dinner.
Day 8
Spain to Morocco
Costa del Sol (Spain) - Tangier (Morocco) - Asilah - Rabat. After breakfast, we depart Costa del Sol and cross the Strait of Gibraltar by ferry, enjoying views of the Mediterranean Sea and the distant Rif Mountains as we sail to Tangier. We then continue south with a scenic stop in Asilah, where you will have free time to explore, relax, and enjoy lunch. Later, we arrive in Rabat and make our way to the accommodation for dinner.
Day 9
Rabat & Fes
Rabat - Fes. After breakfast, we explore Rabat, Morocco’s capital and one of its four imperial cities. Highlights include the Hassan Tower, an unfinished 12th-century mosque rising above an esplanade of over 200 columns, and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, built to honour the sultan who led Morocco to independence. The site is watched over by the royal guard, resplendent in ceremonial dress and mounted on horseback.
We then continue to Fes, the intellectual and spiritual heart of Morocco. A panoramic tour takes us past the royal palace and its iconic seven gates of Dar Al-Makhzen before we delve into the medina of Fes El Bali. This UNESCO-listed old city is the oldest and largest in Morocco, with 785 mosques and more than 2,000 alleys and squares forming a rich historical maze. We walk from Bab Boujloud to Es-Seffarine Square, tracing the city’s evolution from the 9th to the 19th century.
Along the way, we explore its architecture, artisan quarters—including the leather tanners and seamstresses—and visit a Medersa. The tour ends to the sound of copper being hammered in traditional workshops. Lunch is included at a local restaurant, with the remainder of the day free at leisure.
Day 10
The Blue City & Tangier
Fes - Chefchaouen - Tangier. Today, we are visiting the iconic Blue City of Chefchaouen, renowned as one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities in Morocco. Stroll through its narrow, blue-painted streets leading to Outta El Hamman Square and enjoy free time to explore. After your free time, we will make our way to our final destination for today, the port city of Tangier.
Day 11
Return to the Costa del Sol
Tangier - Costa del Sol (Spain). Enjoy breakfast and spend the morning at your leisure until it's time to depart and board the ferry back to Spain. On arrival, we'll make our way back to the Costa del Sol, where we will enjoy dinner and you will have the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day 12
Exploring Granada & the Alhambra
Costa del Sol - Granada. Today, we depart for Granada. Here, we will explore the stunning Alhambra and Generalife, the former residence of the Moorish kings, renowned for its magnificent fountains, gardens, and arches.
This tour includes visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, a stroll through the Alcaicería, the historic silk market, and Cathedral Square.
In the evening, an optional excursion is available to visit the Sacromonte caves to enjoy a traditional gypsy flamenco show.
Please note: If tickets to the Alhambra and Generalife are unavailable on specific dates, as determined by the Patronato, an alternative city tour of Granada will be offered. This will include visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, as well as a walk through the Alcaicería silk market and Cathedral Square.
Day 13
Granada to Toledo & Madrid
Granada - Toledo - Madrid. After breakfast, we will depart for the Imperial City of Toledo, known for its rich history and impressive monuments. We'll begin with a panoramic view from the Mirador del Valle before taking a walk through the atmospheric old town. We will enjoy lunch before continuing on to Madrid, where our tour will come to an end. You will be dropped on Ferraz Street, near the Plaza de Espana at approximately 17:30, though this time is subject to external factors such as traffic and passenger delays.
